I know! Anyone that says a suit is OP hasn't fought high level heavies on "Very Hard" difficulty.
Its op at lvl 1, not at all at higher lvl and NG+ difficulty.
The 3 legendary effects are more or less useless, the DR is very nice but then you can easily find as good or better with 3 upgradable regular parts (which will also give you 9 legendary effects)
"better" only in terms of DR, the effects on the gravis are useless (1 chameleon piece hardly does anything, acrobat is 100% useless and mirrored proc rate is way too low to do anything).
I love that armor because it looks amazing and its decent without being OP at high lvl on hardest diffulty/NG+.
And you can get sigificantly more DR with 3 upgraded superior suit parts.
Sentinel and armor plated are terrific damage reductions as well. You can also get effects like -15% damage from ballistic/energy weapons or human hostiles on top of that.
In short the ideal space suit is considerably better than the gravis suit in every possibly way.
It doesnt actually "turn you invisible" it's just the animation. What it does is making you harder to detect but I read you need 3 effects (one on each part) to notice a difference. One will not be of much help if you already have concealment 4.
Anyway, stealth is infinitely better when using the "void form" power in Starfield, which actually makes you invisible and allows you to crouch and get a sneak modifier at any moment, even if you're just running close to enemies. Void form renders chameleon effects completely useless.
I've known this since NG1. I only use the guardian suit with chameleon when I'm on a covert mission.
Side thought, I might end up using a more powerful normal spacesuit and helmet when I finally settle down in my forever universe after NG+10
