The bugs I experienced :
-sustenance settings don't work if you get a universe variant (different version of constellation). You don't get the "fed" and "hydrated" buff after spawning in your ship, there is no known fix. I just reload until I get a regular universe if it happens.
-the "tab" key doesnt work after spawning in the SB guardian. Alt tab and going back to game fixes it permanently
-Xp modifier from settings doesnt apply properly after starting NG+. Changing any setting with a xp modifier fixes it permanently (you can revert the change immediately).
Okay, I looked up a little on reddit about it, there is a console command which fixed it for some. Or possibly just reloading before unity and going in again. I hope I never encounter it anyway. I am now on ng+2 but not encountered a variant universe yet.
When I saw the video talking about that bug, my first thought is I wonder if they fixed it yet, since the video was about 10 months old.
Anyway here is to hoping I never encounter any of those bugs. Cheers.
Probably fixed as of now. I started playing in January, went to 20 different NG+ across 2 characters, never ever had a bug similar to what you describe.
the 3 bugs I mentioned are easily fixed in no time without having to use command. The only slightly annoying one is the sustenace setting broken on certain universe variants, but it's not an issue if you don't play with that setting or if you just go to a regular universe.
Inany case, always keep backup saves just before the unity portal, that's always nice to be able to restart a game from that point.
the chance is 15% I believe. I got one on my very first NG+ (hunter killed everyone). I think I ran across most of them, but I always reload because I prefer the regular universe.
