You can have an Advanced tier plus a Rarity. But just one Advanced tier.
I read that at some point too but never saw any evidence of that.
Even old guides I still have bookmarked has Superior in their Weapon Tiers and an old sticky note I found in my drawer had a few Superior Weapons scribbled out on it.
Maybe I am just crazy and don't really remember or there was an update that changed it. I feel bad but I swear I remember that Lol
Agreed makes no sense. If it's because they are just too powerful then just move them down the list as to when they start appearing as loot. Just pulling them out feels like someone at BGS just couldn't figure something out so just cut it completely.
No bug, just suits can go up to Superior and weapons to Advanced. And there are a handfull that are limited below that.
The quality mod slot can have an unlimited number of mods on it.
When the game spawns a advanced weapon it actually also has all the lower-tier quality mods on it as well.
You can console command 100 'advanced' mods onto it and the damage number will keep going up...
But no, there are no 'superior' weapons, and there never have been.
You can check the game data.
Each different weapon has its own set of quality mods that spawn on it, they only go up to quality 4 (advanced for guns, with the exception of 4 guns that only get up to refined).
