So Ive been playing this morning for a few hours and Barrett keeps saying "hey I got something for you".

I know how this works. Some random item... maybe some ammo... maybe a chunk. I ignored Barrett for 2 hours. Went about my business.

Finally after like the 20th time he wanted to tell me he got me something I finally said "fine ok"

Barrett goes "I found something you might like! Im sure you can find a good use for it!"

Im going through the dialogue options saying thanks, Ill put it to good use.

Barrett does his Barrett laugh and goes "I knew you would!!"





I look at what he gave me. What hes been trying to give me for 2 hours... (days in game)...

its a Ham Sandwich.

That's by design. If you raise his affinity enough he offers Kosher options.

This morning in my game Sam was insisting we talk to Cora, so I go to my ship and stand next to Cora. Where the hell are you Sam! You’re my companion, stop playing darts and get your butt to the bridge!

This is my second playthrough... never finished the first. I had Sarah as my main last time (even married her and met her stuck up mom)... I knew how annoying Barrett is but I wanted to switch it up and have some fun. Looks like hes trolling me and im in for a hoot.

Next playthough Im picking Andreja. Shes similar to my irl partner anyway..

Right now, I have Barrett as a follower. And he does keep giving me stuff (almost always food). I have changed him up some, but I still have the same old dialogue. It does make me laugh though as he offers these items at the most inopportune moments.

I’m on my second as well. I cycle through all of them to get their loyalty quests. Pretty much do Vanguard quest line with Sarah, Sysdef vs Crimson with Barrett, Freestar with Sam, and Ryunin with Andreja.

I cycled a little on my first playthrough and then decided to just stick with one. Im purposely limiting myself so with each playthrough I can experience something a little new.

I remember when I first played Skyrim I did 40-50 hour playthroughs I never finished and kept restarting as I leared more and more about the world.

Finally on my third playthrough I pretty much 100% the game. This is how I usually do RPGs. I wanna get in the game and mess around and see what happens and how everything connects together and then when I restart a few times I finally hit my stride and the game clicks.

I refuse to read tutorial sor tips. What the fun in that. This playthrough Im actually installing gun and armor mods and doing other things I never realized were important.


Honestly I wont complete this playthrough either.

Im about to purchase a new PC rig. My rig now is wanting and long loading screens.

Im gonna get me a strong PC and then really get engaged.

Honestly I was done with Barrett from the first time he opened his mouth in the tutorial.
I don't think I ever took such an instant dislike to a companion character in a video game before.

The only reason I went back to the place I left him was because I was worried about Lin.

I loved Peebee. And while Liam was far from my favorite, I still liked him much more than Barrett. I'll agree he was a dumbass though.
