Bethesda is always, always trying it on... Without fail.
Companies and conmen/women who rip off customers, but then pretend to be your friend abound in the real world and we know these Johnnies. Whenever we see them, we're ready to keep an eye on `em so they don't get away with ripping off someone else.

Difference is, in gameland they prey on gamers and just keep getting away with it.

nobody is preying on you, you are not a slave to a video game company, there is no victim

Stop trying to spoil the narrative with facts.

bethesda did not get away with it the very first time they tried it back then when they introduced paid mods to the steam workshop for skyrim legendary edition.

something about the creation club or the community clearly is different since they got away with it everytime after that.

I love the simps that come crawling out of Todd Howard's closet and say the same thing "they didn't TRICK you. You didn't HAVE to buy the game." As if expectations from casual fans for a series or studio are too outlandish and unrealistic by expecting a progression in gameplay, game design, or even just basic narrative after a decade of development by triple the staff and double the budget (and more). I'm not even sure what these white knight defenders are even "fans" of, but they seem like the target demographic for a $7 side quest or new shop in a town. All the disposable income left over from their parents hard work and free college education going into their Pimp Daddy Microsoft Howard's pocket.

Speaking to IGN, Howard said, "People will buy anything." He added: "That doesn't mean you should do it. [But] they will buy anything. That sounds terrible."

I just dunno how they do it. You'd think someone somewhere would have noticed this, (seen as we know these Johnnies), and would at least have had the decency to inform all those gamers who didn't know about this. It's a shame and disgrace, it really is.
