New game plus?
Does starting a new game plus skip the whole main campaign questline? Any randomness in questlines etc?

You have the option to skip the main questline. Some things can change between realities. I'm on my 3rd NG and I haven't really noticed any major changes, but it can happen.

Yes you can skip

1) you choose, either to redo the story or not - it does not change drastically, meaning the story has multiple in-game choices that can affect the outcome of the story, those all work same if you repeat the main story but otherwise ... just some chat changes

2) not really, there is some small chance of getting a new 'lodge' scene but in reality it doesnt change the game play
there is like a 15% chance of getting some unusual characters or some other oddity in the lodge

Depending the choices you make in the faction and main quest the new universe can become different. Not sure by how much though, ive been on NG+4 and had the same one every time.

When you get into NG+ you get a suit and a ship and a mission to go too the Lodge. After arival on the Lodge you are being asked if you want to skip or replay the main mission.

I did one without the missions and missed out on a lot, ended up rushing it and i dont recommend it.

You have a 15% chance of getting a 'variant universe' in which Constellation is different... but the end result is the same as if you tell them you are Starborn in a 'standard universe'.

Other than that no, nothing really changes, people have reported noticing certain NPCs looking different and one poster claimed that some of the SSSN clips were changed (however said poster made other claims that weren't factual). However the story itself stays the same.

As a starfield fan
If you want to be OP, just use console commands and mods:

But best to play it normally.
1. the best game is your first universe"
2. the second best game is the game you say: "okay, one last run and I'm done"
3. everything else in between is 'ehhh'

Not much changes except a few events, nothing is permanent and it's just a cheap way to pad the game for content.

The biggest change I noticed was enemy difficulty, especially early on, when all you've got is a terrible ship and whatever guns you can grab from corpses. Fewer Level 2 chumps in general, higher overall enemy level even in NG+1. I haven't been bothering with moving to the next universe but I'm hoping the trend continues.

You keep nothing but skills and perks. You get a Starborn ship as your Home ship (that gets a little better each Unity up to 6 times), the original Frontier as a second ship, and the original Eon you'd get from the prologue with a little bit of ammo.

Each universe will shift resources, shift some terrain, and shift non-mission PoIs around on planets and in systems. Some non-terminal missions will have a different target or target location than prior. (These things also happen if you start over from scratch. Every universe is different from the very beginning, which is why some online guides tell players to go to the wrong place—the author's universe was different.)

Each universe will have its own set of Temples to increase powers up to 10 times.

You'll most likely get a universe that's largely the same with the option to skip the main story at the Lodge. Sometimes, you'll get Lodge variations that'll just give you everything you need to go to Unity again with a quick contest or just dialog. If Vlad is not available in a universe for some reason, you can use a terminal on the Eye to locate temples.

Very intreseting🤔👌!!!. I wonder how does one end the game finding the unity again without the main questline then and how long does it take if rush it straing for it again.🤔.

This randomness or procedure generation thing its like this, it seems to be perfect for replayability🥴!!!

15% is too low, imo. There's a mod on Nexus that increases the chance that I'll probably throw in before I go to NG+

This. No money, no ammo, bad ships, no guns, ... you have a half decent space suit and a weak gun with low ammo and have to make your fortune from there. Its doable, but its a lot of hard work (for me, about 3-4 hours to get a set of advanced white quality guns and pack/hat/suit all correctly modified and enough ammo to use them) to get back to even 85% of where you were. The special ship can't be modified, and its useless as-is, so its just a toy.

Not a complaint: I had fun getting set up again, first challenge in several days. The end of the last game was a let down on difficulty, long tedious fight but they never scratched me or put up any kind of challenge and I took on both at once.
