Not enough player base for mods. Game is dead.
As modders stated, if the game is already abandonned by Microsoft (no patches, no real fixes), there won't be any community of modders pouring energy in that game.

The fundamental law of demand won't be denied by even biggest BGS fans in the modding community. I think they'll come to other more dynamic AAA titles, such as BG3 (plenty of fun to share, there).

RIP.

Workshop sucks. Use Nexus. Workshop will auto-update your mods, breaking the game. Be in control of your own mods, use Nexus. Now Workshop for Skyrim SE or Fallout 4 and absolutely no one but the salt vendors missed it.

There isn't a Creation Kit yet. The mods will asplode when that comes out. Just like it did for... Skyrim, and... Fallout 4!

The features many players want cannot be modded due to the game engine not supporting them. It was a false hope thinking "modders can fix the game no matter what." I said this before release already.

Just a heads up, it's only been 2 years.

People are sheep nowadays dude. They blindly follow. We need more Indian Chiefs in this world.

Plus most that will try to be modded out, Nexus will ban them cause they are "ANTI TRANS" mods and then the modders will be banned too. Why many are boycotting Nexus cause they have now shown themselves pandering and supporting this psyop bs. Hey. If they want their site to be toast, let em. More will pop up and take its place and be better run and not take a side on this crap. You would think most of these companies would know this by now. Go woke, go broke. We want games, not our daily lives.

Weirdly enough, SF has less players on the first month than Fallout 4. 8 years between both game and twice more players in 2023 than in 2015 (on steam). My bet is that the game did not took off in terms of sales because people knew it was gonna be overhyped. So a more resilient player base for SF now (those who accepted the flaws and bought the game in good knowledge of what to expect). Whereas FO4 was not groundbreaking, it was still in the "tech" race, and the quests were not as good as in Skyrim but still ok. Maybe that could explain the difference. Suffice to say, anyways, that FO4 was a better sales success than SF.
Or maybe, just maybe: GamePass did not exist in 2015 so people had to buy the game on Steam.

Whereas, in 2023, GamePass exists and people were able to play it there. Like myself before i bought it on Steam.

Also, I believe Epic has SF in their library but pretty sure those are minimal numbers anyway.

An anti-trans mod is worthless anyway. Who cares if it's banned?

As for the topic, meh. Modders who want to mod Starfield will mod Starfield. The ones who don't, won't.

I've modded games (not Bethesda ones), and the only audience I ever cared about was me

Your brain cells are dead , and if you keep doing that you may go blind so find some thing else for your hands to do . Some work shops for games did not appear for a year and then just took off .

I mean that is if the creation kit transfers over to the Xbox and PS, it might not.
There was a pretty long wait for that in the 360 era of the beth games but we will see
i think at this point its almost certain that xbox mods will come too.

but the microsoft store is not only xbox, you can buy a pc version there as well.

and i dont konw if gamepass will support mods or not but with the gamepass you can play the game on both xbox and pc via the microsoft store.

even if the tool comes, how much more can u do on that out dated engine. people keep forgetting that damn thing should've been put down years ago. The player base is already fading, which means less support for the entire community. no doubt there will be nice mods however, the base game where star field is at native is on a frozen pile of crap. you can only polish a turd so much.
judging by the mods for previouse bethesda games i would say you can do a lot, thats one of the bright sides of this engine

and in starfields case modders will even be able to create thair own planets with the creation kit.

Only 614 new starfield mods this week, and 97 today on Nexus.

Note that is 614 mods in a week. without the creation kit. the fact that theyre capable of producing anything at all without that is impressive in and of itself.

I think Starfield is a truly terrible game but I do think the modding scene will be strong.

Also, it bears mentioning that people "dead gamed" Cyberpunk 2077 but it rebounded largely thanks to constant patching by CDPR and the modding community.
Havean Oct 16, 2023 @ 10:24am
Probably just because the modding tools aren't released yet.

that is one of the benefits of keeping thair current engine, modders are already super familiar with it and even though things change when they do engine upgrades it is still familiar enough to them.

Block and move on, boys. OP is just trying to farm jester awards. Game was updated earlier this month and he's just making ♥♥♥♥ up.
