other than that.. they are of no use.
You have to spend a bunch of skill points to be able to do that. You can't do it by default.
thats were the EM comes in handy.. it distributes its low damage but subsystem effect equally among all the systems.
sooner than later all systems will go offline and than its boarding time.
Use the target lock function so you can aim your EM guns at the engines specifically. Three of these can usually disable modules faster than 3 damage-dealers. And you won't have to be concerned with accidentally destroying the target ship.
