You have to know what mods go in /steamapps/starfield or documents/starfield.
i have seen issues with people not having extensions enabled, it can be tricky to see the actual extension if only 'some' are hidden (default windows setting)
https://www.thewindowsclub.com/show-file-extensions-in-windows
in %documents/my games/starfield/ I hope?
Did you check the mod info page on Nexus if it causes any problems? Maybe you already did this, and you consider this silly suggestions. Then see it as a free bump. Telling us what mod gives problems could help as well.
Could also try modmanager2.
There are guides on YouTube on how to make the custom ini . Before you start adding mods to the game spend the time and learn how , you’ll be happy you did and it will take less time than asking people here what you did wrong when 90% don’t know what their doing either and tell you something that makes things worse .
If you’re going to mod the game you don’t want steam cloud saves on for the game , same goes for onedrive , with those active for the game they will perpetually return the game to its previous broken state if you need to do a reinstall.
It’s better to just have a copy of the data folder on a thumb drive or in a separate folder in the pc
Do not answer if you are unable to analyze the text. God...
who am I writing to, everything is written in the header, what is it?
Dang! I've been looking at several mods over at Nexus. Glad I gave a pass on all of them for now!
The mod I was most interested in said (in it's installation instructions) it required a second mod to operate properly. When I clicked on the link to the second mod; it said it required 2 other mods to operate properly!
Four mods to get the one I want to work properly?! Yea. Don't think so.
if the file is correct and in the right location it will be loaded, there isnt anything else to it
maybe try a basic ini file with no edits and a re-texture or something that doesnt need any code added to it?
try this, remove everything you have added (back it up), then dl and place both of these in your Docs folder inside "\\Documents\My Games\Starfield"
here is a minimal StarfieldCustom.ini - dont edit or add anything yet, use it as is
https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/273?tab=description
here are some textures for the beowolf rifle (can find it in a shop to see it if need be)
they also go in the Docs folder inside a few more folders you may have to create
https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/1583?tab=files&file_id=3865
the textures will not work if that .ini file isnt there, if the beowolf is blue its working
now trying and again this error(
ED: nope saves and i file for main screen, I dont know whats wrong, Mb 1 of Vortex mods blocked it? But i have simple mods for best textures, fast doors, better aim looks and no option-breaking modding(
