Male, but I switch it up from time to time in general in games play both male and female to change it up. Playing just male characters can get pretty dull over time

Yeah, gaming is for everyone. Why would women need to come here to say "I am OK"? If they are OK they are. They don't need to come here to get some sort of permission to be gaming.

no, what is odd about the post is that you said "if you feel ok with it", which would imply that if I would feel ok with 20% of the playerbase being female. Its a bizarre thing to bring up

Women tend to get harassed in male dominated arenas, such as gaming, so many of them probably don’t want to announce to everyone their gender. Was the OP point, I believe. Now, why they are asking women to announce themselves, I have no clue. Sounds pretty fishy.
