Taking prisoners
I just took out the entire crew of a ship using the Novablaster EM rifle (non-lethal weapon). There was only one crew member still alive (my Companion was rather trigger-happy.) But I was not allowed to take possession of the ship until I cold-bloodily executed that unconscious crew member. Seems kind of drastic. Shouldn't there be a way that a civilian can capture Bad Guys and then later turn them over to the Authorities? (Citizen's Arrest)

Hmm. I had forgotten that there were Brig ship Habs available in vanilla. But this mod indicates that they really couldn't be utilized in vanilla. I'll have to start looking at the Nexus mods again to see what's out there. (Manual installation is somewhat tedious.) Currently, I only have Creations mods installed.

Thanks for the link!

useful brigs + non-lethal framework + useful brigs NLF compatibility patch

IIRC they're on creations and nexus (although I am almost mod-free since just before the Shatter Space update, so that could have changed)

+1 Yeah, I play vanilla. I agree that if you are gonna have non lethal mechanics there needs to at least be non lethal completion options available for conflict resolution at the very least. This should extend to bare fisted game play, IMO. Be well

This function should be patched into the game officially.

The fact that it isn't and is seemingly so easy to do is a blunder on Bethesdas part (add it to the list.)

I agree. Unfortunately every game since Morrowind has been full of miss opportunities in features and storytelling. And it's only gotten worse with each new release. So I'm not terribly surprised at the heaping mess we have on our hands. I can only imagine how bad Elder Scrolls 6 is going to be. I've pretty much stepped away from all their games now, even uninstalling Starfield. I'm only this post because I was reading through my library and fell down a rabbit hole.

I salute anyone who can find fun in this tragedy of a game.

Which would be the same as murdering them in the end. Without a suit or when the O2 runs out. [Does make me wonder what was done with all the other dead bodies from a defeated crew. I can see there being space battlefields littered with long dead losers. Almost like traversing an asteroid field made of dead bodies.]
