But seriously though, not had a problem with being sneaky in this game.
How? I got the skills when I created my character and enemies see me from miles away. Getting one kill alerts them and I have to wait a few seconds for the stealth meter to go down and kill another one.
And if you snipe they may blind fire in your direction without having actually spotted you.
Make sure the small black bars on the stealth meter are little to none. If you are exposed at a bright lit spot, your successful stealth just means nobody is looking at you.
some say it's a bug.. others say it's not. but it's a bug.
can't help you, brother.
Ryujin quest Sabotage maybe ?
Just one rank in stealth doesn't do much. And suppressors only mute the sound, not silence it. There is also the chance that your killing an enemy with a sniper shot will alert all of them. As you gain more ranks in stealth this will happen less often. You can also add gravitics to your armor at a work bench to help silence your movements and if you get lucky, also have some armor with the chameleon buff. There is still a small base chance of alerting foes, but you'll have it happen only rarely while picking off enemies.
I had 3 ranks at stealth... enemies would see me from miles away after killing someone
Edit: Just some extra notes.
Stealth use to be worse, but they made it more forgiving. This was noted in a patch at some point.
Wearing a spacesuit also makes you more likely to be detected. I've tested this, and it does seem to be true. At least from my experience.
Internal areas seem to be more of an issue than outdoor. Just due to enemy proximity and placement. Its very rare to be able to get into a room, without there being a close by enemy, directly facing the only path into said room, or corridor. Sometimes multiple.
chameleon clothing for stealth ... simples ...
the stealthy stuff worked okay for me when i used it .. apart from that ryujin mission where you jump across the lights etc ... that mission was a real pain in my R's ....
You are right its a game and not real life. i think the sniper part of the stealth system in this game is good, you have to think before you shoot and plan ahead. i like that. But when you make a game with stealth mechanics( or any mechanics) it has to make sense and fit the game (in my opinion). Some things do other things dont in this game. i like starfield and i can see you really do 3000 hrs wow.
