The most demanding games now need 12 GB VRAM for max settings 1440p 60 fps . For those who still have graphics cards with less than 10 gb vram it is better to get a 16 or more GB VRAM card than a 12 gb. Get a RX 7900XT or RTX 4080. Also tell us what is your psu and case?
yeah, i was thinking about gpu upgrade, cpu is i9-9900 which is nice, and with 850 i should be ok with any gf 30xx

That upgrade is not worth imo. All of the 40 series cards are a waste of money, it's better to wait for 50 series.

6000 series will be even better!

LMAO. As all the series of 6, 7, 8 will be. Its a never ending upgrade battle. Luckily in the near future (10 to 15 yrs?), upgrades will be irrelevant.

Soon enough the travels of data wont be limited to a die or heat constraints.

Light.

Oh, gotcha, thx.
I'm going to play it with my 3060.
Are the 3000 GTX series not 4k capable? If yes I see no reason to do like the OP title.

I upgraded to a RX6800 just a few months back and just yesterday I installed my new 5800x3d so I'm ready.

I recently upgraded to a 5800x3d as well. Really been impressed with it.

Get an AMD more performance and more cheaper

A long, long time ago I was a big AMD fan. Then after the umpteenth chronic incompatibility issue preventing me from playing my game, I swore never to buy AMD again no matter what. When it won't run, every dime is wasted and performance is zero.

Yet the new Intel have issues with some games. Have to turn off Pcores or whatever they're called. Just stick with the later AMD as they're far better and cheaper

They are not demanding, they are unoptimized.
Some of them have been fixed.

H:L with High settings and RT on with 1440p does not even use 6 gb Vram for me.
Yes some are unoptimzed while some are not. With the two latest patches for example last of us dropped from 12 to 9 GB at max settings 1440p on my RX 6700XT. But its graphics are hte same as it was on release date who used 12 GB. What i have noticed is that those games who need more than 10 gb vram for max settings 1440p they look so amazing almost like real!!!! Which is why they need 12 or more for maxed 60 fps.

Why? there's no point. This is the same graphics engine as Fallout 4. So if whateve you have now can play that at good fps, you will be perfectly fine with what you have. I have a 6700XT and a 3800X...if you dont have 8 cores by now idk what you are doing. and the 6700XT runs Cybershit max settings 60fps 1440p fine. so if it can handle that it can def handle Starfield.

3800x might not be enough for 60 fps.
