Looting in Single Player
In Skyrim and Fallout 4 you could loot aid, ammo, armor, weapons, and currency. Was I missing something or in any of the game play for Starfield did the player get the option to loot a suit or helmet off of a corpse? I hope we get to see the cool outfit on the enemy and loot it off of their corpse.

That's a good point. Never saw any of the loot system.

The recent trailer did show looting of bodies, and also random creates as well. I think they had a few seconds of them looting a "legendary" create so probably a tier system involved.

It seems to be just like Skyrim & Fallout which I love there looting systems

The video shows stealth looting (Pick-pocketing) and corpse looting.

But the UI doesn't show an image of the items, just words.

Pickpocket:

6.5mm CT
CQB-X
Maelstrom

Corpse:

Credits (77)
3KV LZR Cartridge (54)
Equinox

And it touches on the all-time favourite.

Sandwich looting.

My point is that unlike Skyrim and Fallout 4 you can't loot their armor off of the bodies, or at least they didn't show any looting armor except out of boxes.

Honestly I'm fine with not being able to loot spacesuits, as spacesuits are kind of useless after you shoot through them to kill the person who was wearing it.

Not sure about the timestamp but I can remember in the deep dive they showed lootable armor, I was worried at the beginning when no armor showed up in one of the dead guys but later there was, so maybe there is a system with "damaged spacesuit is not lootable" and you can only get armor that is not damaged.
Would be cool if you only could loot what you did not destroy when shooting someone.

I also noticed that looting looked 'selective' with the player unable to take everything from a downed enemy. If this is the case, although not a game-changer per se, it would definitely be a disappointment - one of the great things about looting in previous Bethesda titles is that you can quote rightly, take absolutely everything from a dead NPC.

I am fine with them toning down the amount of items that can be looted. I probably also helps a bit with the performance if they have to keep track of less items. And seeing the sandwich collection it seems that what you can loot still works the same. Personally for me I do not need the ability to pick up every ballpen and cup floating around. Like in Skyrim, I never collected crap, I only collected stuff like gems because...shinies!

On Youtube in "Starfield Direct – Gameplay Deep Dive" you can @ 34:59 see the player looting a legendary "Incendiary Calibrated Deep Mining Space Helmet" from a container. I think, it's possible to loot a dead body too.

It looked like you couldn't loot armor off of everyone, but I cam alright with turning the loot down a bit. its very overwhelming sometimes in bethesda games. Make loot more important and good loot rare.
