Well... let's compare to an actual live service game, Fallout 76, to get an idea on Bethesda's practices.
In FO76 many main quests have bugs, some even progress stopping and have been in since the quests released. Some of those bugs have persisted for years...
So if they can't/don't fix bugs in their live service game, what hope does their 'whenever we want to update' game have?
Face it, Bethesda has really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ practices when it comes to reviewing old bugs. They tend to ignore and just keep focusing forward.
This is one of those cases the "modders will fix it!", or they might do if they're even still around...
So now I can't even get something good for the Astras that I painstakingly collected by running the same ol' dungeons.
It gets better and better by the hour!
No we haven't and posts like this are total garbage.
As far as the broken quests. The ECS Constant show up again at some point. There is "Were it's supposed to be" until it reappears and you find it at it's random location.
My advice is go play a game that's perfect, except that just means you won't be playing any games.
Can you list them?
I've played the DLC three time and not had an issue. I've only had a couple minor issues in the base game.
Bethesda has indeed fixed quest bugs in the base game, maybe not all but saying none have been fixed is false.
LOL! Thanks for proving my point.
Your point is not proved... LOL... Your point is patently false. Show me one post were someone said the game has no bugs? Hint: You won't find one.
You just did. Oh boy.
These two Quests weren't working for me either before the updates, the "Location of the ECS constant" is the only remaining Quest I have that doesn't seem to be working properly.
I agree, I felt the same way about Cyberpunk 2077 when some of its Quests and mechanics were bugged. This is just the nature of open world games, they have a TON of moving parts and tend to break more often then smaller, more contained games. I've even run into bugs in Elden Ring, which is a formula From Software has been using for 3 games now.
No one should be letting Bethesda off-the-hook, but holding them to some unfair standard isn't the move either. I'm in the process of seeing if Bethesda actually reviews claims submitted by the fans as we speak, and if it's found out they don't (I have a clever new way of being able to tell), I'll be making a video about it soon and exposing them.
I'm 1,000% on board with holding them accountable.
Bethesda games have always been abnormally buggy. Looking at this scripting language I now know why. Actually the more bugs they fix it is almost guaranteed they will make more.
You mean "Features of Bethesda games".
LOL!
Wouldn't you think fixing broken quests within a year and a half would be a reasonable expectation? It's one thing to have a texture not align with a mesh, or have floating rocks/trees, or maybe have the wrong sound file associated with a creature. Hell, even having broken nav pathing might be expected. But in ~18 months, all the quests need to be solid.
I don't see any unreasonable expectations in that much. Beth games have never been perfect - they create far more bugs than they ever fix (hence the reason for the Unofficial patch to exist). But core parts of the game (mechanics, story, missions & campaign, etc) need to be solid, probably before the end of year one. Even in a Bethesda game.
