Consistent mico stutters every 3-4 seconds
In certain areas of the game I get consistent microstutters (Main hub in Neon, Operations in Ryujin, the lab in the quest "Entangled". Microstutters by themselves are no issue but this feels like somethings causing it with how its happening consistently.

I tried both in vanilla and modded, moved the game to my primary drive, tried dlss and no dlss and still get the same issue. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this.

Edit: Old shader cache was the issue. Nuked my starfield folder in local and reinstalled in case anyone else is having this rare issue.

Is your primary drive an SSD?

That is the thing that comes to mind for the stuttering. And having the best setting for your particular GPU, of course. Try searching the net for Starfield, stuttering, and your specific GPU and CPU combo.

Glad to hear you got it sorted!

By "reinstalled" do you mean the game itself?

Just give up. I have. It's because of your CPU. The game is CPU hungry. Doesn't matter if you have super beefy GPU if you CPU is ♥♥♥♥. This game is ♥♥♥♥. With the latest update it won't even start. Uninstalling and never looking back.

If you read the comments or the edit I fixed my problem. I also have a 14th gen intel CPU so its not bad by any means lol.

I had trouble with it feeling spongy, or kinda like being in water. It maintained frame rate with no trouble but still was funky. It was the damn page framing, this game does not do page framing right at least for my 4090! I got the micro stutters in Gollum and it was page framing there. Try turning it off I am playing again because it runs so much smoother now.

LarannKiar just posted an update to Starfield Engine Fixes (5.1) that appears to fix the persistent stuttering/hitching issue. It's disabled by default; you have to enable it in the INI file (set bEngineLoadOptimizer=1).

I just tested it in my save in the worst area for me (Nishina Research Lab) and the stuttering/hitching was GONE!

I just downloaded his Engine Fixes on Nexusmods and still I have the same stutters in neon.

Just put it in the data folder and add: "bEngineLoadOptimizer=1" into your STarfieldCustom.ini right? That is it?

I did it like this, nothing changed. Don't know if the fix is active now.

Only happens in neon city, other cities zero stutters.
