Exporting Starships - Possible yet?
This was a major comment on this game at launch, I was wondering if there is any way yet to save your ships to share.

Is there either a mod or something that was added in-game that allows this?

Yes! you need a mod of course and I recommend watching a tutorial on how to add your ship but I did mine today and it wasn't too complex.

It also makes use of the Ship Vendor Framework that Reconciler posted about.

I did see the Creation Kit one, but that seems nearly impossible and you'd have to recreate everything. But thanks for the resource, useful to have!

The Creation kit can be daunting at first, but I promise it's not as bad as it looks. The ship builder works pretty much the same as in game. Took less than an hour to get mine rebuilt. Took some pics on my phone to use as a reference while I rebuilt.

Edit: I watched these to get the basics down.

It seems in hindsight that the mod also builds through Creation Kit, so there isn't a REAL export function. Only a "rebuild" option. I guess I have to try it!

For now it is what it is. That kind of stuff requires lots of work or be done by Bethesda within the main game.

The ship data must be saved in the savegame I assume? In which case it should be possible to extract the data and insert it into a different save, without needing a mod in the actual game.
For those who run across this down the road and are wondering, at this point, feb 15th 2025, above seems to be still the only method. The creation kit does allow you to build the ship in the same fashion, so a ship editor without any costs to make it, and works wonderful on a dual or triple screen setup, where Starfield is on one screen when you're trying to copy the old ship.
One thing that Bethesda shold add for sure, the ability to save your ship-design. Even if its yet incomplete or whatever. We should be able to save and close a partial ship design as a "blueprint" (or whatever name would work) and travel between the various shop vendors and get the parts to finalize our design. And when it would be finished and fully functional, the ship should appear from an owned Landing platform where it could be purchased.
