It's smashed their false narrative about dead game and no mod scene. SF is strong and the mod scene is healthy.
remember battlefront 2? the game that is currently having a huge spike in player numbers? are you aware what the concurrent steam player numbers are? 18k. do you know how high the total concurrent players was? over 100k, interesting, wouldn't you agree?
how is it possible that the steam peak makes up less than 1/5th of the total peak, when steam is such a big platform?

just saying "its true" instead of offering an actual rebuttal doesn't strengthen your position, it weakens it. Especially considering the example I just provided undermines your argument.
The Steam player base is massive, the numbers mean everything yet don't own the game.
