How
Did they make the Oblivion Remaster soo much better than this? I really wanted this game to be something...I beat it not long after launch and just knowing how boring the game is makes me never want to play it again. Sucks :/

Because Oblivion RM is still just Onlivion mostly?
It's funny that Oblivion, from 20 years ago, is still regarded as better than SF
They didn't really. It's actually just the original game with UE5 used to enhance it's graphics, and a few new content thrown into it. You can even use some old Oblivion mods with it right out of the box.

Because oblivion already was their best game.

I cannot get this, Oblivion has nothing in common with this game, IDK why people always mention it in this forum, they could as well mention a new deo spray appearing on the market...Senseless.

Not just mostly, it IS Oblivion. The only thing they did with the remaster was just enhance the graphics (and do some adjustment for leveling). Starfields graphics are still better than the Oblivion Remaster though. So not sure what OP is on about. I'm not saying Starfield is the better game, but OP doesn't seem to know that gameplay and story wise, the Oblivion remaster is the exact same game from 20 years ago as they even kept in the old bugs from the original. So the "How did they make the Oblivion Remaster much better than this?" question doesn't make sense in that regard. Because the graphics are worse (than Starfield) and the game itself is the same it always was.

Yeah it's still the same game.

And, as far as I can tell from the steam user reviews, more enjoyable than the (hubristically) self-proclaimed magnum opus of a masterpiece SF

How's the loading screen situation in Oblivion RM?
Did the swith to the vaunted UE5 fix it?

Tell me what dragons and magic and all such crap has to do with Starifield, I'm all ears...
cause all they had to do was rewrite the code in an engine that ain't a flaming turd (they used unreal 5, shocker) and everything was already done for them

No it still has the same loading screens as Oblivion does and UE5 in its own right has plenty of them too so it wouldn’t fix anything anyway.

It’s just using a graphics overlay it still running gamebryo for the game mechanics.

He probably means while they are both Bethesda RPG's, they are very different as one is a high fantasy/medieval RPG, while the other one is a space RPG. I think they can still be compared especially considering they are both from Bethesda and Bethesda likes to follow the same formula for their games. Whether it's The Elder Scrolls, Fallout or Starfield, they have many things in common in terms of game mechanics and how quests and the world are structured. For me, Starfield feels like a mix of Skyrim and Fallout in Space, which is exactly what I wanted the game to be.

I think each of the Bethesda games have their good and bad parts. Oblivion for example has some rather outdated game mechanics like the enemies that are scaling with your level, which was the last Bethesda game that had this (I know Skyrim had a hybrid of level ranges, max levels some enemies could scale up to) and just generally an awful game mechanic if enemies always keep leveling with you. There are many even older RPG's (like Gothic 1 and 2) that felt so much better to play if you are running into enemies that are too strong and later when you are able to beat them, it feels like you are progressing which Oblivion doesn't offer as enemies always remain similar to you in strength due to level scaling. If you level up in Oblivion you may become a little stronger, but so will your enemies.

It’s a 20 year old game. It has the same loading screens from 20 years ago.
