Red Tape Reclamation
This quest has got to be the worst one I've seen yet, and maybe there's also a bug involved?

Now for those who don't remember and those who don't know (spoilers ahead), its a quest you get from Trevor the foreman from mars, after you're done with the Red Tape runaround quest, which was way better quest.

This one involves a missing shipment of mining equipment who (which you approved in the first part), so you get sent by Trevor the foreman to look for it, your first clue is the spaceship services which is right outside Cydonia hub, OK all good, I go talk to the guy, ask him about "hank", and I find out, this "Hank" took a scenic route with that ship, which is unusual, so what is there to do? Oh I need to run back to Trevor, really? god I wish this game had cellphones..

Anyway, Trevor told me to look around for this "hank" at the bar, man, I don't know who wrote these quest but this back and forth is really, not good, but that's the least of problems.

I finally meet this "hank" and guess what, this dude is a dumbass, in the end, I convinced him to take me to the shipment of mining equipment, so this turns into the classic bethesda follow NPC quest at an irregular pace, fast walking is too fast and slow walking is too slow...ok thats alright I guess, well not quite so, this ♥♥♥♥ just up and stops randomly looks at me a bit, then continues to slowly walk, meanwhile my ears are getting blasted by this incessant beeping because I'm playing on hard mode, and I'm constantly getting environmental damage, trying to follow this idiot, at this point, this dude is even cracking jokes about "man I shouldn't have parked the stuff so far haha" bro, was this quest deliberately written like this so I get a brain aneurism?

Finally I get to the spot, and OUT OF NOWHERE, this "hank" pulls up his pistol in my face, trying to threaten me, level 31 and with a companion near me, classic skyrim vibes.

SO even if I really wanted to kill him, in my headcanon at that moment it didn't sit well with my RP, so I decided to persuade him, unfortunately for me (or maybe him), I didn't drink up or took charisma pots, so I was left with just the basic 1st persuasion perk, and this dude had something like 7-9 bars of persussion, I was like "bro what? this level 1 npc??" luckly, I had 1 auto-persuade attempt on, so I used it, but here's the part about the bug...even though I used it, and the bar disappeared, the dude still turned hostile, as if my persuade attempt failed? what?

So I killed him.

At this point I'm not sure I care to redo this quest, is there even a point to keep him alive? thx for reading my rant.

I am not sure auto is an i-win button. I think it just tries to win using the best options, but can still fail if your skills are low.

otherwise, I dunno what happens if you keep him alive. He probably does something dumb and mean -- hes a 2 bit hoodlum and can't be trusted when a gun is not in his ear.

I might try it again, as far as I know, auto persuade should win instantly? When I first went in the persuade menu, I hit 1 option once and failed, then I noticed he had this dark souls long persuade bar, and right next to it I had 1 auto persuade attempt, I hit R, and the dude was like.." man you re right etc.." something among those lines, the persuade bar disappeared, and I was expecting it to finish, but no, immediately after he was done speaking, I had another 3 options of persuade to choose from, this never happened before, after I chose the green one +1, it failed and he went hostile.
