Mining/OutPost Question
Wish Me Luck on Keeping this Short :).

I'm in need of Chlorine, so I found a planet which contains it... as well as Iron, Copper and several others. In seeking a Spot that 'Hopefully' has Chlorine, Iron and Copper (at the least); I actually found a spot with has: Copper, Gold, Chlorosilanes, Alkanes and Water. (Note: On the Planet Overview I actually Did Not land on a Spot with any resources; but instead landed on a spot equal(ish) distance from Chlorine, Copper, Water and Iron. Hoping to get Chlorine, Copper and Iron.)

So... my question is this: Is Copper, Gold, Chlorosilanes, Alkanes and Water the best I am going to get; or is it worth continuing to hunt for the above Plus Chlorine (which was my Main Goal)... or should I just be happy with this?

My reason for asking is wondering if there is any kind of Hard Coding in the game that Prevents (for Instance) more than 5 Resources within the radius of a single outpost. I'd like to get Chlorine (and maybe even Iron as well) added to his list; but I'm wondering if I'm wasting my time.

Also Note: I have Zero Scanning Skills... so I just got Lucky Finding the Gold; which I am not giving up :).

Advanced Thanx!!!

Finding several resources that you can get at the same outpost is doin' good. :D You can try and look around, see if there is a better spot, but, keep in mind, the game only 'remembers' three landing spots, land a fourth time, the first one is gone. If you zoom all the way in on the planet view, (and have it showing resources.....) you *might* be able to find a suitable spot from orbit, but, once on the ground..... it doesn't always reflect what you think you saw from orbit. :D

I think you can find a spot on a planet with 8 resources within 1 outpost.

Which planet did you find for your chlorine?

However it is tuned it forces one to hand mine within a system for certain resources. Like Tungsten or Nickel.

Here I found you a video with a planet that has Chlorine + 7 other resources in one Outpost sized area.

This is really good to know; which means I'm going to keep searching. I feel it's a Long Shot, at this point, but if I could, at the Very Least, find Chlorine in this area with everything else... Especially the Gold; this will be my Favorite Outpost. Crossed-Fingers and Massive Thanx Mate!!!

As to the Location: System: Ixyll Planet: Ixyll II

I'm not sure I understand. I'm currently Auto-Mining Nickle and Tungsten at the same outpost on System: Alpha Centauri Planet: Olivas Moon: Voss

Another thing you can do is drop an outpost beacon (if you have any extra available), then go look for a better spot. If you don't find what you're looking for, you know right where your first spot was. And if you do find what you're looking for and don't want the first spot, just disassemble it - no resources lost.

real short: 3 resources at one outpost is average, a fair location and good if its 3 things you need right now.
4-5 resources at one place is a good, very good outpost, doubly so if you can use all of it.
6+ is outstanding and hard to find.

running around finding a location where all these things meet up to get you really nice mining locations is extremely tedious and time consuming for 4+ at one spot. The more at one spot, the harder it was to find (even if you get lucky).
Look here for an explanation of Resource distribution and resource families:

I just felt a need to share this.

So I finally built the outpost, and managed to get 6 out of 8 Resources. (Much Credit has to go to this Video; it helped a lot).

The Outpost will produced: Alkanes, Antimony, Chlorosilances, Copper, Gold and Water. Of course, the Joke's on me: I came to this planet in search of Chlorine, but when I found Gold I got happy... and when I found Antimony... I went Glitter Blind :).

So, I didn't actually get what I wanted... but I did get what I didn't know I Wanted :)>

nice! Enjoy that gold... its worth ... like 4 credits per :)
Its actually quite useful, as it makes some important ammo types. But its value is very low; turns out its fairly common in space.
It’s the same loop.
You spend ages looking but once you start mining a resource then you soon have far too much of it.
Its possible to go insane trying to hit all the resources on one site. Best I can do is 2 site.

Check out Hyla system. It has almost everything, and the only critical inorganic resource it lacks is cobalt.
