"Back to Vectera" Bug/Issue HELP! Cannot complete main quest
So im having a weird issue with the quest "back to vectera". When I started the quest to talk to Lin, I started dialogue & once the quest advanced to find Barret & find the power cells (Im guessing the quest stage shift) the game would crash so I did a workaround by just skipping dialogue with lin & collected the power cells to then go & find heller, which leads me to my second issue that prevents me from advancing in the story & completing the quest.. once I talk to Heller to help him at the crash site, I talk to him to & after the first line of dialogue I choose, the game crashes & im unable to advance in the quest to recruit Heller & save Barret. YES I do use mods but Im not sure what mod or what could be causing the problem. Hopefully someone can help me solve this bug, PLEASE & thank you !

Yes, post your mod list and if those mods were all from Nexus or all from Creations or a mix of both. Also include if you've removed any mods.

And mention if you are using a mod manager and if so which one.

I currently use MO2 & I dont think I use any Creation club content but here is my mod list (all from Nexus mods) Ive removed (disabled) the HD overhaul, bashkit Standalone INJECTOR, crew eats food & belts & holsters (never enabled)

wow. I got nothing... I can't get the blasted game to work with 5 mods off the workshop... yours even half working with 180 is a miracle in and of itself.

I never had any issues using mods with this quest in the past so idk whats up tbh. I could try console commands to skip the quest or I can prob just disable some mods to see which ones crash the game during the dialogue or not.

Normally that's the best way to test which would be to go back to a save when everything was working then to disable your mods one at a time testing your game. But if you did the quests in order this is only your 3rd quest after 1. One Small Step, 2. The Old Neighborhood, and this one 3. Back to Vectera (unless you did The Empty Nest), then you are still very close to the beginning of the game. This matters because with a mod list with so many mods created with the experimental version of xEdit which were all 'use at your own risk' type mods I would just scrap the entire list, do a Clean Reinstall of the game which is more than a simple uninstall then reinstall" as a clean reinstall will ensure all traces of loose files are completely removed from your game. Then make sure you install mods that were made after June 9th 2024 or at the very least were updated after that date because that's the date we finally received the official tools.

That's my advice but of course you could test them one by one as mentioned. But you would still run the risk of issues popping up due to the type of mods you are using (made before the CK) and some of those are esp files (yes i see the converter which I would not use). Not to mention some mods might be the wrong versions of esm (small, medium, full).
