Starfield, Worst game of 2025

As we enter 2025, Starfield continues to hold its place as the biggest disappointment of the year. Player numbers are dropping like crazy on Steam and it’s looking like it might not make it much longer. Will this be the final year for Starfield or will it somehow hang on with more updates and DLC? Right now it feels like it’s on life support.
The game had so much hype but ended up being a mess and even the next gen promises were nothing more than empty words. Players are getting tired of the same issues over and over and it’s hard to see how it can recover at this point. Maybe they’ll surprise us but it’s hard to imagine this game being anything more than a passing phase in the gaming world by the end of 2025.

The big question is whether Bethesda will finally give up on it, or try to keep it going for another year?

Given that it's struggling to maintain ~4-5k daily average concurrent users, I'd say the reviews on it are largely meaningless. Clearly positive reviews for that game are failing to produce sales and players, which is really all that the developer/publisher desire. From that perspective (financially), it's failing.. hard.

same fake reviews SF received at launch to overstate the games quality and content. The IJ forums are just as bad as the launch of starfield maybe both games and the publisher/devs behind them are absolute trash

and you see the same defenders on both hubs(just did some research). just goes to show how bad this game is, bethesda needs a re-brand because their games aren't working in this day and age anymore.

Not only attention.
I cannot find a use for Steam Points, sincerely writing, but it seems to me that those are deemed totally useful, definitely a must-have.

That's why I usually repeat myself over and over - Steam Points are the black plague of Steam Forums.
I think that if they ever will be removed altogether, these forums would became a little more healthy ecosystem.

That's why people who defend this game on steam are on the bethesda discord, crying constantly about how steam are big meanies that don't censor anyone that hurts their precious feelings.

Exactly. The only thing the fans and defenders have left is their little cafe on the forum. Nearly every other topic is exposing the truth about Starfield but the cafe is just one big echo chamber. It’s the only safe space where they can shield themselves from any criticism and pretend everything is perfect.
The funny thing is they call other people haters but they’re the ones who can’t handle any opinions they don’t agree with. They just complain about it instead. This kind of toxic positivity doesn’t help anyone I agree, not even the game they’re trying so hard to defend.

The double standard is disgusting, they troll every thread that criticizes Starfail, but they report and get upset when anyone derails their cafe thread.

Stuff like that tells gamers to stay far away from this slop and Bethesda, they're done.

Starfield is much worse than those three games no question. Sure, Gollum, Redfall and Concord were disasters in their own right but Starfields failure cuts deeper because of the sheer scale of its hype and the attitude of Bethesda itself.
Bethesda marketed Starfield as a revolutionary game but all we got was a shallow mess that feels like it’s stuck in the early 2010s.
What makes it even worse is Bethesda’s attitude. Acting like their usual outdated mechanics and endless bugs are somehow acceptable because "that’s just how their games are"
At least with those other games no one expected much. Starfield had the weight of years of hype and promises behind it.
it’s a prime example of arrogance and overconfidence leading to failure. Starfield didn’t just disappoint it became a symbol of everything wrong with overhyped AAA gaming.

Are you new at buying things? Products are never as good in real life as they look in advertisements. Or at least i don't know of any that are.

The same with women. When you get them home and unwrap them it's never as good as advertised.
