any way to place solar panels neatly together?
They don't snap to one another, their heights are not adjustable, they clip with the ground underneath - is there a way to place them so their edges align together neatly?

I have considered putting them on top of some sort of structure like a hab, but I eventually ran out of habs. Any other blocks on top of which they can be placed so they don't induce OCD? It's my first real playthrough so I don't want to use mods.

You can use console commands, or the mod "Build Bits" to move them into position. The author of Build Bits said she's going to remake it soon too, I hope she makes it like Place Anywhere in Fallout 4, its essential when you're big on Outpost Building & want things to look just right. The other option is to build yourself a settlement & player home in Creation Kit, its build tools have all the things.

Its not really the main focus of the game, but it is something that many players enjoy, myself included, I hope they do add more to outpost building, maybe even an outpost related DLC would be great, but modders will continue to expand on the area, even if Bethesda does not. In Fallout 4 they added some DLC around settlements/workshop, so its entirely possible they will here too.

Nothing can scratch the builder itch like using creation kit though, its got everything for creating anything & being able to share it as a mod. Regardless of that, I do still like building in game, its sort of meditative for me, I can zone out & contemplate whatever as im tinkering. I enjoy that because I enjoy thinking & creating, everyone is different of course, to each their own.
