Gorefield - A Gore Mod for Starfield
Giving this one a bit of exposure, looks like the kinks have mostly been worked out and mention of it might have otherwise been tucked away in other threads.

Some users have said they wish Starfield had similar levels of gore to say Fallout 4.
I think the base game has some, and you can find some bloody scenes and blood splatter after combat. This mod dials it up several notches.

This was the scene inside the cockpit of an Ecliptic bounty hunter captains ship after they tried to come collect my bounty:

This is pure mayhem, decaptication of 5 enemies (there's a 5th behind one of the consoles). Other effects including turning enemies into bloody skeletons, piles of ash or completely liquefying them.

If gore is what you want, this mod has you covered. All fine tuned through settings too with one of its recent updates.

ed: I guess it's more "exploded head" rather than decapitation.

Hey oak thanks for sharing. Quick question, in the screenshot you took, which setting/level do you have the gore set to? (The mod page says default is Embrace the Gorefield)

-Leave the Gorefield (No gore)
-Tiptoe in the Gorefield (LOW chance of gore)
-Enter the Gorefield (MED chance of gore)
-Embrace the Gorefield (HIGH chance of gore)
-BECOME the Gorefield (Almost guaranteed gore on any weapon that can do it)

Yeah, default for the Level has been left at "Embrace the Gorefield". I did turn on Overkill, where bodies ... explode. I should grab a screenshot of that I guess.

I might end up turning things down, I've had more than one crowded boarding encounter where I haven't been able to easily identify bodies to loot them. Oops.
Tried it in full, medium and low settings and I have to say its not for me. Like sometimes it'd trigger way too often coating whole rooms in raspberry jam. It also had interactions with mods like immersive sabers where if you so much as grazed an enemy with saber then BAM they are a Skeleton. Couldn't get disintegrations to work either. Overall too over the top silly to use in its current state

I've never tried the of but I'm wondering how long ago was that? Like oak said they've made some improvements. I guess if I were to try it I'd want to try it on Low,

It's possibly not for me either, long term. I was never really disappointed with the blood in Starfield - I'm happy to see splatter on the walls and floors, I don't necessarily need explosive corpses or dismemberment. But - for people who do want it, I think this would fit. I guess turning the setting down would blend it a bit more realistically. I'll try lowest gore setting when I next go cleaning up space vermin :)

I dont understand why people enjoy gore in games. It’s disgusting and vile and I don’t think it adds anything meaningful to the experience. There’s a difference between immersive combat and just over the top brutality for the sake of it. I don’t see why games need to include extreme gore at all it’s unnecessary and kind of disturbing.

Good news for you then, Starfield doesn't include any :)
Have we found the one positive thing you might have to say about the game? lol

Seriously though, I'm take it or leave it. FO4 has gore, it's fine. Starfield doesn't, it's fine.
I like horror films, but generally not slasher/bodyhorror. Maybe peoples tastes align along those things? People who like slasher horror films want gory video games too? Who knows, I don't think too much about it - this mod gives people who want it an option, I just know there were a few complaining about the "pg" nature of it, this'd probably help them.

That’s what forums are for, discussing different opinions. Seems like you’re the one struggling to accept mine.

I'm not obligated to accept your opinion, that's because it is an opinion not a fact.

Of course, youre not obligated to accept it. But the way you’re reacting makes it seem like my opinion bothers you more than it should.

This is what in psychology is called a projection.

Yeah, fair enough. Starfield not having gore doesn’t bother me at all so I guess that’s one positive thing I can say about it.

I get that some people enjoy that kind of thing just like with horror movies. I’m not into slasher/body horror either so maybe that’s why I don’t see the appeal in gore heavy games. But Yea if mods give people the option to tweak it to their tastes then more power to them :steamhappy:

Would be funny if all of that blood and gore would float around in zero gravity.
But I suppose I’d constantly have to take my spacesuit to the dry cleaners to get it cleaned.
