Check out this guys ship building techniques.
Not sure if you've seen any of these little tricks & techniques he uses, ive tried some of them & they work great, being able to snap more than one thing on to the same spot, or embed things inside other things is REALLY GREAT! We can get even more creative, im finally working more on my next build utilizing place doors yourself mod as well as added several more ship parts/habs to my mix thanks to you guys showing them off, this game is so fun :steamhappy:

You tried OP, but 9 hours later and no 'community' to be seen...

I hope you can now see just how selfish some of the dwellers around here are. If it didn't come from them they don't care (and their small cabal of followers).

Thanks for the link. I go through periods where I build ships, then periods where I don't. This was good timing as I'm currently in a phase :D

I just wish I could work out how to build anything with ~2500 cargo and maintain *some* mobility.

Right? I was surprised, he's got a ton of great designs, ive been tinkering in the shipbuilder a while now, I did figure out how to slightly merge a few things, but not as far as he took it, Now I can hide things, put guns in better areas, & lay out much better than ever getting both form & function. being able to snap multiple things to the same point is a game changer! Especially when you use a mod to vastly increased amount of parts allowed in a ship, & increase tolerances as the 'Ship Builder Configurator' mod at nexus can do.

Yea I love it all, I was reading comments in his vid, some of the people who inspired him & shared techniques were there cheering him on, & he was there offering help to those who want to use them too, such a great community Starfield has, and its just getting rolling too, I think Bethesda did great with this game & it will persist for a very long time.

Mine are usually 100 Mobility with 3,000-10,000 cargo cap. Speed is usually around 150 but as low as 130. Mass is important. Class of Engines for Speed. I have something I'll send you

Yea me too, if you use the right balance of mods it might be a bit easier, just make sure there are enough engines & thrusters, my current ship is huge, has over 40k storage, & sill has 100 mobility, top speed 200, I increase capacity on storage with 'Ship Builder Configurator' mod but still have a bunch of storage units too, sometimes I move a lot of cargo so its useful for me lol.

Agreed. The posts down below you come off as fake and forced. IT's disheartening to see community spirit replaced with scripted, artificial content. What we need is genuine conversation, real talk about the game, not just sugar coated feel good vibes that hide the truth.

Thanks all :)

I'm going to keep playing around with it. 40k storage!? I wish.
I'd be happy with 10k though (he says, knowing full well that he'll just fill it up and then want more). Time for me to tinker. Oh, and I still want it to look cool - that's the real challenge I face lol

Yea I love the challenge of it, its complex with a ton of options, even more when you add mods, ship building is among the top mechanics in the game, it can be so satisfying due to the challenge & getting to fly & fight in it. Dont forget that mod that lets you save unfinished ships so you can do it in sessions.

SFSE Save Unfinished Ships (No Ship Limits - Unrestricted Ship Builder)
Lets you temporarily disable restrictions with a hotkey, so you can save the ship & come back to work on it later.
