Companion ammo
Every companion comes with some ammo. Do they need it in order to fire their inherent weapon or can I dispose of it?
If they need, I imagine one bullet suffices as in Fallout?
If they need, and I accidentally take it away, how to know which ammo they use to replace it?
If you give another weapon to a companion, does it have to come with one ammo, as in Fallout, or do they consume ammo?

Yes they need 1 ammo for weapons you want them to use.

Also - give them GRENADES! Only one and dont forget to equip it on their menu (press B) they will spam enemies with it which can be really hilarious sometimes.

They just need the weapon assigned to them... the weapon has unlimited bullets... which is awesome.

I gave Sam the grenade launcher. Works pretty good actually.

I gave Robbie Robot a gun, but he hasn't been using it. Looks as if I should also equip it for him...So far, no options to flirt with him either!

I don't know what companions you guys are runnin with, but mine can't even get out of my way and love to block doorways. They get no weapons, and certainly no nades!

Companions love to get in your line of fire. But that's a common trait in all games. Vasco is quite good cover.

They never run out of ammo once you give them just a single piece.

Theres a cool enemy/companion combat AI tweak mod that I've been playing around with (just changes some script values that can easily be reverted). I cant remember the name but its on nexus ofc. Both move around way more in and out of cover, pressure on both you and the enemies gets a bit more fun, and companions get a little grenade happy with it (equip one).

I'm not some uptight player who has to have every companion action be perfect, and sometimes the chaos is hilarious, but for not having access to the Creation Kit, it's a pretty well done mod. It's also pretty funny watching all of it. I have to give companions weaker weapons because they will annihilate enemies (I installed the "dont steal my kills" mod because of it) - and of course they arent always "smart" with those grenade throws. LOL.
