Ghost ship / board the derelict ____ , missing ship?!

So I did a jump from Wolf to Arcturus and when I arrive I got a creepy laugh and some humming over the coms.
I look around and cant find/target anything so I check my quests. I got a 'board the derelict "Freestar Mustang" so I set that as primary and it pointed back to wolf. When I get back, again I can find nothing. The zone has the 'Old Hub' wreck, which I cant do anything with and the planet. No derelict.

Iv spent some time jumping back and forth, not a lot of planets to check, the quest market doesnt help me find anything and I havent heard the voice a second time.

Does anyone know if this is bugged or am I missing something?

i think you and me are both bugged, i'm having the exact same issue. same laughing, quest name, and quest marker pointing towards wolf and when i get there the quest marker goes away and i cant find anything. hope someone else can give us some insight on the fix

I saw a video where someone ran through the quest, but when they found the ship it didnt look like it was market or targetable. But it was in the asteroid field. I spent around an hour there panning through and couldnt find any ships.

same problem. but for me the quest just disappears after about 30 seconds

Not the exact same, but after I got on the ship I think it didn't like that I moved something that contained an objective because now there is just a quest marker floating in mid air on the ship where the thing that used to hold the quest object, it's an audio log that I already grabbed and listened to, used to be. Not sure how far this was supposed to go but looks like I won't be going there. Already tried returning to my own ship, it didn't change anything.
