Dont overwrite your saves!
The game may crash when rewritting your save and the save will be broken and useless....

Yeah if I am going to make a hard save I just make a new one and then delete the old one, much safer this way than overwriting them.

'Overwriting saves' has nothing to do with the game.

'Overwriting saves' is just like any other write operation, handled by the operating system and the file system (NTFS).

There is no 'partial overwrite' or any other kind of myths. There also is never anything 'writing over something' else. One file gets written newly on another part of the NTFS disk, only then, the other file (old one) gets deleted. If a file does not successfully complete a write operation, it fails.

That is not an 'opinion'. That is how operating systems work, for the past 70 years.

Eh, if it does happen no biggy. I have a habit of saving every 10-15 minutes in games literally due to past bethesda games. Not to mention this game autosaves like crazy as well, so i just overwrite the autosaves lmao.

largely true - BUT if you save a game that has a bug, over an older game - its very likely the bug will still exist.

its not the over writing thats the issue - its saving a bugged game over a "good" game - that can cause issues.

plus - some issues can stick around till you exit the game and reload (have you tried turning it off and again? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nn2FB1P_Mn8 )

Alot of these users (players) may have bad drives. Most of them use only one drive that has OS, junks and well this game. So using cloud save is bad, better off using hardsave and nothing wrong writing over it, unless you have to have a backup before that. So wouldnt hurt to have two or even three.

If you still having issues, get another SSD and use that for gaming only!

What I said was that the game may crash when overwriting saves. I am not saying that overwriting causes the game to crash.
