I do not like having a limit to what I can pick up so call it cheating but it's a single player game and if you want to be a loot goblin you can and after playing the game for 30+ hours without using this after I used it the game was at least not forcing me to leave loot or having to constantly transfer loot all over the place.
I tried this and it didn't work. I put ALL resources in the Lodge infinite storage from my ship and I went from being able to craft and research to no resources appearing in the crafting stations downstairs. If it worked I would have done it from the start.
This whole resource issue with crafting and research is very frustrating. You more or less have to forget about crafting until you can make class C ships and get enough storage. I've stopped bothering until I get all the achievements I want and then I'm just going to use the console to modify my carry weight to 20000.
Only few method exist, make dozen of storage at your homebase and just dump all the item there, if you have few thousands of rare resources, you need multiple dozen of those large storage. Another method is to bring it to those infinite container but cant really fast travel or travel from there. It is much better to make a container next to a landing pad.
Best solution, just throw away all those resources and junk. When you need it just buy it instead.
That would be a good start for changes.
