So you MUST keep all materials in your cargo or inventory in order to craft????
Is there really no better way to store things?

Craft direct from infinite lodge storage... I guess this is the route im being forced to go.
not bad, if u dont care about "realism" this one is good to go ...

Yea , thats exactly what i need , when i think about it how much time of the game i carry materials around where i need them, its just frustrating. One unlimited Storage connected to all workbenches , Outpost building ..... , that would made my day.

personally i'd recommend just ignoring the crafting and outpost building. you absolutely do not need to craft in this game to get good weapons and the resource collecting combined with horrible UI and limited storage makes it far more annoying than enjoyable. Neither system is deep enough to be worth the effort of being a garbage collector 24/7.

I want to craft specific scope and silencer combinations... so im going out of my way to do that.
The storage in outposts and the crafting inventory are pure bethesda. Brilliant mechanics, and obtuse baffling design.

It seems like the intention was to force players to use the outpost system.

then why create infinite lodge storage...

I do not like having a limit to what I can pick up so call it cheating but it's a single player game and if you want to be a loot goblin you can and after playing the game for 30+ hours without using this after I used it the game was at least not forcing me to leave loot or having to constantly transfer loot all over the place.
modav is better than setav or forceav, less risk of save file corruption

You technically don’t have a limit on what you can pick up. And you can still spring with 99999999/200 weight. You won’t die. It will just bring your health down to like 20% you can sleep for 1 hour or whatever you need to do to get it back to full.

I just pull my resources from storage in the Lodge basement, walk a few feet, craft, then put all the resources back into storage. Takes a few clicks and I've got about 32 tons of resources. It's not exactly ideal, but it's hardly a major issue.

I was wondering what storage container you were talking about and then finally spotted it. It's on the bench just behind the Research Station pretty much in the middle of the room. I totally missed that. So I use that now and it makes life a heap easier.
I use a mod that sets all ship cockpit default cargo weight to 500k.

Dont have to deal with that storage issue BS anymore.

Yes it seems like it is the intended design but they have two very annoying decision. Higher tier of ship cargo is not more weight efficient, the outpost landing ship cargo link is too small.

1 basic setup is to link your chained storage to landing ship cargo link. Can put this cargo link next to the landing pad, you can technically have storage as big as you want. However standard container is very small. 75 only afaik and that landing ship cargo link stuck at 300. So you can keep withdrawings that dump resources 300 at a time. If you have 30 tons you need to do it a lot of times which is dumb. Either way doesnt seems like the intended design because it sound very janky.

Simple solution you should be able to craft that infinite storage and that similar to your container should link to your workshop. You can put each one at every single of your base or home. At the moment your home is useless.
I guess another way to bypass weight limits is to just use the console.

player.setav carryweight 10000

I wanted to get at least some of the achievements though. :steamhappy:

Yeah, it took me a while to find that container too :)

There are at least 9 infinite capacity containers in the Lodge:

1) The safe upstairs in your room (1).

2) The one next to the Research Station (1).

3) Several ammo containers near the Weapon Workbench (3) - I use these for food and some equipment.

4) Another container near these that appears during the main quest (1).

5) At least one more container in the back rooms downstairs somewhere; possibly in the kid's room (1).

6) A couple of gun racks on the walls (2), although I never used these so I'm not sure what and how much you can store in them.

The one next to the Research Station is the one I use the most though, and it's where all my resources go.
You can just buy the ship "Silent Runner" that one has 6080 cargo capacity. If you get the perk that increases your cargo by 50%, you have 9120 cargo. That is really a lot of cargo you can carry around with you.

https://techraptor.net/gaming/guides/starfield-ships-guide-every-ship-you-can-buy-free-ships

I currently use a modified version of "Kepler R" with the maxed out perk i got 4845 cargo capacity, for me that is already enough i don't need 9120 cargo. Legendary weapons and armors i wanna keep for later or i am not sure if i wanna keep them, i just put into a container in "The Lodge" basement. Onboard of my ship i only keep weapons i wanna sell later and crafting materials and clothing else nothing. For me it works fine, hoarding needs to be limited, i just keep 10, 25, 50, 75 or 100 of each material depending on how often i need it or how heavy it is.

The Lodge definitely works if you don't want to mess with outposts. I only built an outpost to reduce the number of loading screens between me and crafting/storing my stuff. Instead of 2 loading screens (Jemison, then Lodge) I only have 1 to my outpost.
You DO realize you can fast travel directly to the Lodge from any point in the game, that allows fast travel?
