It's rubbish they have any of it, we don't pick who we are before we are born so we shouldn't get to pick in games.
Yes there are points when people are taliing about your character while you are present and use the pronouns you chose... just like the mod did is sloppily and just removed the choice making all people who used it play them/them non gender conforming characters lol.
I am not making the argument for or against 1001 genders in school. Thus I am not going to be put into a strawman argument to battle for one side that I did not come out and say I support or don't support.
The only opinion I have addressed is that I think it is weird for teachers to come out to their students in class and hide children's sexual orientation or pronouns from their parents. Thus locking their parents out from aspects their children's life. That is sus behaviour that isn't accepted anywhere outside of school and shouldn't be accepted in schools.
And there's the hate speech... Just because you don't agree with something does not make it abnormal or bad in any way....
I'm okay with being corrected then in that your character is referenced using their pronouns (I did testing, though clearly not as thorough as I should have). It's just so far and few between, it seems, that it was just shoehorned in.
Actually, though it's infrequent, I've noticed the pronouns you pick being used every now and then. It's always the case that games like this throw in some acknowledgements to custom character choices (race, in game religion, pronouns, etc) to make the game feel more personalized, but minimize how often they're used for financial reasons (voice actor costs).
In other words, it was very minimal effort for Bethesda to add. So having hundreds of topics discussing such a small detail is pretty silly.
While it's a tricky needle to thread legally, it's obvious to anyone who isn't braindead WHY it's normally done - because there are a ton of hateful bigoted parents, and kicking kids out on the street and/or physically abusing LGBTQ kids is very much a thing. Teachers spend a lot of their time with those kids and often care about them and want to help them by, you know, not going to their parents with things they find out about said kids when they know it will result in child abuse likely being committed by those parents.
States like Florida are trying very hard to endanger the lives of LGBTQ kids by forcing teachers and doctors to out kids to their potentially abusive parents, though, so....that's great.
(also, why do we humans feel the need to shout into the void that is internet forums like this? I mean, if a trans kid was being beaten right in front of most of the bigots in here they'd just laugh, so it's not like people like that are really reachable.)
Oh man I hope not....when crap like this is monetized its going to ruin EVERYTHING
They did it for easy good boy EGS points.
Because the doctors who actually practice mental health worked with trans people for decades and realized that calling them "perverts" like you brilliantly suggest didn't actually help?

I realize that pales in comparison to the sage advice of bigoted randos with hateful opinions about anyone different than themselves, but there you go.
