Let’s be real, why are pronouns actually in the game?

On a real point of view, why did Bethesda actually take the time to add pronouns and other things into the game that no one ever asked for? What’s even the actual reason. Back in the day no one ever gave a crap, why do devs now? What’s the reasoning?

It's minimal effort to implement, and gives a potential new market.
And I predict the amount of players that feel better with having that and are simply quiet far outweigh the noise crybabies, crying over something that is easily completely ignorable...
Pronouns default to what you are used to, if you just confirm like you did in previous games, nothing at all changes...

As tired as I am of this pronoun nonsense, maybe it's because it was a simple change that makes a few people happy? Who really cares? It's not hurting you or anyone else. Just roll your eyes at it like I did and move on.

You can tell it was the writers who encouraged this given how bad the writing is. They are just checking off boxes. Girl bosses, check. White man bad, check. Over representation, check. etc.
