How old is Sarah?

Just curious, looking at her dialogue so far it sounds like she's actually 50 or 60 with her war stories and what she did before? How old is she?

She says she was 18 when her parents got in her the diplomatic corps which she enjoyed exploring Mars for a brief time. She then joined the UCnavy and the war broke out which was 20 years prior to the game start. This would place in her in her 40's.

She's at least 45 if she's a "Veteran of the Colony Wars." I thought she was maybe older, like 55-60, but...
Her whole "Poor me...." questline makes me believe she's having a midlife (40-45 in current aging terms) crisis.
Loved her accent (aka: her voice actress is awesome,) but hated her questionable "morality" and constant judgement of my playstyle.

The official timeline that was released said she was the youngest person ever in her position in the UC. She made history as that. So she showed remarkable abilities and was given a position. The way it works doesn’t mean she has to have had a decade in to get there. You’re just fluffing it up. During war time things go fast and she was propped up. Battles give people medals and recognition etc.

I imagine she was born in 2290. If you do the math and look at the timeline it adds up. That makes her 40.

This is correct. She states that she was 18 when she joined the navy and that the colony war broke out soon after (2308). That places her year of birth at 2290. Plot of the game starts in 2330 so that makes her exactly 40 years old at the start of the game.

For those assuming her age and title of a commander don't match, remember, she's primarily a pilot, not a soldier. She was promoted at the end of the war only after the ship's original commander was killed. She was commander of just one ship and I imagine tens or hundreds of thousands of ships were lost in that war and each ship had to have a commander. That makes her just one grain of sand on a beach.

I just figured that 300 years in the future, we would have anti-aging technology.

We/they do! Enhance! can not only change your facial appearance, they can swap out your nether parts too. Even change the way you walk! All outpatient, without the hassle of weeks of puffy/bruised tissues, nor the inconvenience of qualified psychotherapy...just like real life.
