How to import saves?
Do you know how to import saves from one pc to another without getting through the cloud? Thank you in advance.

Saves, at least when using the steam version, are in Documents\My Games\Starfield\Saves. You should be able to just copy everything there to a USB or google drive (as a zipped folder) and place them in the same location on another pc.

It doesn't work when I run Starfield the game only recognize the previous saves made on the same PC. I thought something must be changed in the ini file somewhere to allow others saves or maybe shall I desactivate the cloud on the PC in which I want import the saves?

For some reason for some of us the saves are in the Onedrive folder, rather than the straightforward Documents one. Just in case you can't find them.

No idea why as I've never used it.

The game might be trying to sync cloud saves. Try disabling the cloud for the game and try again. This is for a different game but the process is the same: https://help.bethesda.net/#en/answer/35546

You should disable One Drive for any game related folders - especially saves - as it can lead to problems with the game - up to and including the game not launching.

Nothing on One Drive, the saves are in Documents/My Games/... or in Programs/Steam/userdata/... for the cloud saves. And even if i copy cut bothe folder it doesn't work...

Are they both steam versions? I have done that before, loading the saves from one pc on another by putting them in the Saves folder. Worked fine for me.

However I've heard if you played it on gamepass the saves themselves use a different format, so if you bought it later and wanted to load your old saves it might be tricky.

I just tried to disable the cloud it didn't work. It seems there is only one character which is recognized by the game...

Both are steam saves...

Hm... just tried it again and it still worked. They appeared at the very bottom of my list of saves (it's sorted by the time they're made I guess).

I guess it might be worth checking you don't have any security software interfering with them?

I think I've got the point, I have copy paste the same saves that I added to my \My Games directory to the steam\userdata\...1716740\\remote\saves directory, and on the 1716740 directory there is a file which is named remotecache.vdf and on this file where all the save settings are stored I guess, for the saves I have implemented the value "persiststate" is set to 1 instead of 0 (0 is set for the previous saves on this pc). If I change the value to 0 then start Starfield it resets the value to 1, so I guess there is an ini file somewhere that could help with this persiststate value... [Or maybe because it's a steam directory only steam can affect this value....]
