In just 80 hours of my Starfield gameplay, I have experienced:

"Wow, this game is amazing"
"I find this game boring"
"Why does everything seem so far away"
"That was incredible"
"Why don't guns have bullet drop or ballistics? this is weird"
"All melee weapons feel the same"
"Hit that boostpack, baby!"
"My ship feels like a loading simulator"
"I regret buying this game and wasting my time"
"Let's go steal that ship!"
"No ground or city maps. this is confusing"

Starfield left me tired and bored easily. It's not bad but not great either—somewhere in the middle. There are moments that were enjoyable but overall repetitive and lacking. SF has basic combat, oddly tough enemies, copy paste camps, too much fast travel and menus.

These issues in my view, took away from the games appeal and left me feeling disappointed overall.

I know many folks here will defend Starfield but it's hard to ignore and you all know that the game falls short in delivering a true space exploration experience.

It's not particularly great as has been stated by many. A lot of people got mad that some outlets gave the game a 6 or 7 but that was a fair assessment.

Starfield with total mod overhaul is probably gonna be great. People who will create a living universe with much more believable factions and people are gonna keep the game a live for a long time.

But Bethesda isn't some indie developer. Mods have been saving Bethesda games since Skyrim and its a joke for a company that was bought for 7 billion dollars.

Let's just say we're still hopeful of the game but if you look into the way they designed SF in creation engine, the game itself alone has too many limitation to adapt to a seamless world.

I don't think there will be groundbreaking mods to come but aesthetics or cosmetic changes then yes but remember creation engine has too many limitation.

Redesigning planet variables, adding vehicle or overhauling flight design mod isn't possible with this engine but maybe I am wrong unless BGS gives all the tools the modder's needs.

You know It's a good day when Angry Joe's review on Madden 24 is more entertaining than the game itself lol.

It falls short is a subjective thing to say. Give this game to someone who has never played anything but Galaga and they would be awestruck. Give this game to someone who was fully expecting fallout 4/Skyrim in space and they will have a blast. Give this game to someone who focuses on all the fun gameplay aspects and does not feel the need to criticize every little thing because they have developed games before and knows what it is like, then they will both admire and enjoy the experience here. They have created something awesome here, and if that is not how you feel about it, power to you. But I freaking love this game. It is definitely one of my favorite sci-fi games, and I love my sci-fi games.

If I didn't like something, I would never waste 80 hours on it.

built in bullet drop ballistics, are you serious?, if you want that you are playing the wrong game, try Arma or sniper Elite..

Do we? I certainly don't know. For me I have more fun exploring planets in Starfield than I ever had in Elite Dangerous or No Mans Sky. There is nothing those games do better when it comes to planet exploration.

Unless you meant exploring in space itself but I'm fine with that, I see the game more like a mix between Mass Effect and Fallout 4. It's not a space sim so only limited things to do in space itself.

well aren't you the same people telling us to play 20-30 hours into the game first before complaining or saying your opinion? I played more than that so I don't have to deal with their excuses defending the game.

Everyone has the right to their opinion but you cant ignore the truth, SF is just mediocre game; not bad and not great either.

are you serious? a pistol in this game that shoots like a sniper? obviously there's WRONG in this game. You don't implement guns by making all guns range shoot indefinitely. example: a powerful pistol should have shorter range.

Bullet trajectory is literally nonexistent in this game.

Are you for real? NMS has more content, dlc expansions and there's alot more to do in NMS. Don't compare 2-4 repetitive combat and limited world vs No Man's Sky, they have more contents and world to explore vs Starfield. I am already done with my NG+ but feels like I am doing the same over and over in Starfield and already grew tired of it lol.

This is first Bethesda game I won't beat before modkit is released. Im just going to wait until modders fix the game next year.

Legit take. I really hope SF gets the best updates and makes a comeback that outshines NMS and Cyberpunk. I think that potential game could be awesome, but I'm not confident it will happen.

Have you already tried to talk to ships in the space?

I was like

"Wow! I can contact the ships!!!

after several attemps I was like

"Wow! That´s pretty useless"

I can see where you're coming from. With FO 3, NV, 4 and ES OB, SKY I was hooked from the first minute I played them. I would lose track of time and hours would go by. With SF I played an hour or so and quit to play something else. I'm just not sucked into this world like the others mentioned. It's entertaining but feels soulless. I'll keep plugging at it an hour at a time to see how it pans out.
