dont put guns on a gun rack

i acquired the (Razorleaf) and it has weapon racks and i put a bunch of unique weapons on the racks, when i left the ship and returned they were all gone? all the great weapons gone. 14h worth of grinding gone. i feel so defeated. i now know after reading about this happening to other people that i need to manual save. some of the guns i didn't even have a chance to use yet. please help

Ouch, sounds like the issue I'm having with Captain Lockers then. Anything I put in there just vanishes if I modify my ship.

They don't disappear. They get moved into your ship's cargo hold if you so much as even paint a single part of your ship in the builder. Once you make the leap to decorate your space RV, don't edit that ship in the builder at that point.

only put my "special items" in a apartment weapon rack or at the lodge in the basement so i can pick the items up just wished the basement storage box was linked to the actual crafting stations

Some weapons wont even wait for you to return to the ship or modify it to disappear, the Orion and all variants the moments I place it in the rack will just vanish like it was never there...

Same here. It used to move to the cargo, but last time, it didnt.

Ships cargo is fine, and by far a better choice as it follows you can be expanded greatly.

I keep looted stuff in ships chests in between selling it all off, there are some ship parts that have 150 space chests. I use the ships chests only as an overflow, all the expensive stuff goes into the cargo.

*Though it has to be a bug that items in chests are not being kept, maybe if the cargo is full they disappear? Instead there should be an overflow storage where you can pick it up.

I keep most of my excess junk in HopeTown prison's box (or any other prison box). Since it is the box where all the stolen items go, It has no weight limit and no item type limitations. Perfect!

Thank you for the warning! I'll remove weapons from ship's racks as soon as possible.
