Found any planets with ACTUAL water bodies?
Oceans? Lakes? Ponds larger than a puddle?

I want to build a scenic "Vacation Outpost" somewhere and figured something lakeside would be nice.

The closest thing is i've found is a few of those "Special Environment" spots(Fungal Grove, Toxic Swamp, etc, etc) but you can't build near those.

When in orbit close to landing spot, find areas that wont let you land due to water, then get as close as can, usually will say shore biome. When land, look at surface map, usually the body of water is flat, its a trek but they do have water fronts.

I havent found decent lake yet but seen bodies of water,

I had an outpost on a previous run where it had a beach in the backyard, was really nice :)

Find a planet with oceans and land near them. should show as whatever biome but have (coastal) after. Once landed look for the water.

I built my main outpost on a beautiful coastline on Akila not far from Akila city.
So great location.

paradiso, well the planet where that resort is, has plenty of water and beaches. also looks tropical =D

I finally reached skill to give me outposts because watsed all mine on resources but I want a nice get away, but honestly I am thinking more of a hostile world prone to storms would be cool to just chill out with.

Me and my partner both play Starfield and we both noticed this. Some planets are full of life and still... no water. Oh apart from rock water O.o

Bethesda must have had a priority list and likely to be fixed by moders list, like actually having a good body texture etc.

Oceans yes but its kind of pointless are you can't dive in them. Lakes not so much, closest I've encountered to a lake was actually a swamp that was no deeper then knee level. Ironically I've never encountered a puddle outside Akila City.

Ocean, yes. But lakes or rivers, I havent seen.

Edit: Just found a lake. :D

Yep. Lots to explore on the shores to, maybe even natural wonders or an epic building to build a base near, or star ship base nearby and things.

Its tricky and i am still learning, how to have a close landing spot and everything.

I think ocean, lake, is very rarely, they do try similar to realistic 10% living planet, ocean and lake is even more rare, unless I'm wrong? It's there, but rare, new atlantis do had a lake/river of sort even waterfall (man make wall that look like waterfall, however)
Flippy 16. sep. 2023 kl. 17:37
There are two large lakes near New Atlantis can explore and build a base on as well. I did the exploring but didnt build a base yet.

I assume can build a base on the edge of this lake but didnt try yet.

There is another massive lake on the highlands as well which is on the opposite side of the city from where this screen was done. Great views for bases.

The likely reason is NASA helped with the ratio of planets/moons with liquid water and those without. However the sad reality is that it's incredibly rare in the galaxy for there to be liquid water. Though we are missing things like lakes of liquid methane for example.

However I will concede to the general feeling of there being a severe lack of biome diversity, especially with terrain.
