Ship to ship Combat? You most certainly can. Not Boarding combat.
You just have to have enough power to the Grav Drive where you jump before you blow up.
You have to travel to a different star system. In system travel doesn't use the grav drive and isn't allowed (lore wise I guess it involves just cruising at sublight for several hours)
you're in it to win it or... reload your save.
Considered trying to reload and try different approaches, but I have no intent of romancing Sam, and other than romance I cannot find any consequence for companion affinity, so maybe I don't care.
Your friendly at that time with pirates so if you kill pirates at that period ,you commit murders.
Look at your murder stats they go up if you do so .
Sam also sees them as murders so that is why he dislikes you.
