Boarded ship's engine not self repairing?

Just boarded a pirate ship. It automatically repaired the Grav drive but not the engines. Repair parts don't help with that either. Guess it's a bug or it takes ages? Did anyone experience that and know if this is a bug or just a very long self repair?

Put energy in to engines?

Can you jump with the Grav drive?

Take power our of it and then put it back in, takes a little bit for it to repair but for some reason it won't if you don't power cycle it.

None of the above work until I exited the pilot seat and sat down again. When I did that, I got the repair process to commence and I got one bar of engines. I was just beginning to think I was going to be stuck 2,409 m from the den for the rest of my playthrough.

You don´t need your engines to get out of a system, you need your grav drive. If you are orbiting a planet you can always land even without engines.

I just got one where the engines wouldn´t repair or just took too long, I grav´ed to Sol and got the new ship fixed by the technician.

it takes some time , around 4 minutes last time i captured a ship

So this happened to me - eventually I last ditch tried to fast travel to my nearest point of ship repair, and it worked.
