One Possible Important Fix for Texture Mods not loading - BAKCUP YOUR INI FILES

[WARNING 1] Don't copy paste the archive invalidation lines from a web browser. Type them in. //
[WARNING 2] Do this method PLUS the My Document folder method, this might be necessary!! //

this particular fix might not fix your problem, there's something else down here in the comments that might.
ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR ini FILES! //

[WARNING 4] Use an app like NOTEPAD ++ to check if your ini has some weird hidden symbols, that might simply brick your file. BACK UP YOUR INI FILES!! //


I suspect LUTs mod and other texture mods aren't working correctly for some people without them realizing, which happened to me.

If you suspect your mods are not working, or know that textures mods aren't working for you, and you already did everything in the /document/my games/starfield folder with StarfieldCustom.ini....

Leave this folder, go to your INSTALL DIRECTORY, find Starfield.ini instead.. and do the following:

[Archive]
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=
SResourceArchiveList=(...................... doesn't matter after this)

basically add the bInvalidateOlderfiled=1 under [Archive]
(EDIT: DO THIS)

And then delete the stuff after sResourceDataDirsFinal=
(EDIT: DON'T DO THIS)

This is what helps me complete archive invalidation finally and allows me to play with texture mods.

By that I mean the more well known archive invalidation method, which is going to here:

/document/my games/starfield

creating a new text file:

StarfieldCustom.ini

and placing this in:

[Archive]
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=

My Starfield just crashes when I do this after trying to load any save, even if I have nothing extra in my data folder whatsoever.

I actually tried that one, which didn't work for me.
It is known that different methods work for different PCs, so maybe try every method one at a time and see which one helps.

Try doing this method as well as the one in the my document folder.

I think I did both, and that might have made it work.

In any case, remember to always back up your ini files. It's not that difficult.

Sorry for the inconvenience. But maybe try again, with this method PLUS the my document folder method?
