Can't dock at The Eye

Hi All,
I am by The Eye (in fact very close) and don't get a menu option to dock. I have the starter ship so not sure if that is the problem. I have switched between the scanner and scanner off but still no menu. I have the quest Into The Unknown - Talk To Vladimir. Am I not supposed to dock at the eye? There is a blue quest marker on The Eye though.

Have you modified the ship and accidentally removed the docking port? Basically every time I make an edit I somehow end up deleting parts I had no intention of touching.

Select the eye with E first, then get close, then the dock and hail options should show up.

Same with picking up stuff floating around in space.

Also you have to be within 500 meters to dock.

Thanks all but I have not removed any parts (in fact have done nothing to the noob ship I have), I am right on top of the station but don't get any menus at all. When I am on top of The Eye and press E I get out of my seat in the ship but no menus appear. I will go back and check to see if I have a docker just in case. Thanks again all.

E? that would be B on my controller and not used for docking. it's the X button actually.

Center the station in your view and press E on the keyboard.

Never seen an "E" button on a controller.

Sounds like you’re holding E instead of tapping it. Aim your reticle at the station and just tap E once (or a few times, if it locks onto something else). You should then get the option to dock by holding R.

Removing the docker would lead into an error in the shipbuilder, so that can't be it.

Look at the eye, press E and fly close to 500m, then the dock option (R) should show up.

Don't get so close. From way out you can hit the action key (I am on console so i am not sure what it is on PC) and it should highlight the station and tell you how far you are from it. It will also show a "Hail" option.

Watch the distance. When you hit 500 meters a Dock option should become available. The option will not be available unless the station is highlighted. Just flying within 500 meters is not enough.

The same is true for looting things in space. Highlight them and get to 500 meters or closer.

I had the same problem last night! Tried "everything" - no success.
You HAVE to be MOVING(just a little). Be within 500 m of The Eye, HAVE some speed(I was moving with 4 m/s), click "E"(on PC), THEN you get the Docking Option "R". Hope I could help. Have fun!

same thing here thanks @gorfrob, I moved back a bit and then went forwards slightly, finally dock option came up. I had been micro manoeuvring all round the eye thinking I had to be really precise, bit frustrating!
