Lockpicking - reward to work ratio is way off
The more i play this game i see rather many locked chests - its okay with having easy locks not giving good loot.

But the game now is starting to have more and more master locks. Which is okay aswell to some extent but some of them actually take more time than i want to invest in a minigame in a game.

But what really is getting annoying is that master locks seem to have awful loot aswell. Shouldnt there be some sort of reward for investing time in one of the harder locks? At this point i seriously wonder if its even worth it investing the time in doing these locks since most of the time random combat loot - which is mostly easy is way better and investing time just to get crap is rather annoying.

Agreed. I skipped most of the locks last twenty hours of my game because loot is random and really didnt even need any upgrades anyway.

Yeah I stopped picking most locks. The time you spend picking could be better spent just pressing forward.

Some locked doors are the exception, if the room is filled with unlocked loot like a chest & weapon racks. OR if it provides a shortcut.

They said the game was playtested so much - but even without that. Did nobody realize that its a problem if locks actually become rather time consuming at some point yet often offer absolutely bad rewards?

But thats a general problem of this game - there are also a million lockers in this game - some of the have to opened twice per locker (top and bottom) just to be ful of trash or empty.

Why are there so many things in this game that seriously just waste time for no reason - its just awful gamedesign that doesent respect players time.

Not to mention combined with one of the worst UIs in gaming history. Did they seriously pay someone to make this awful UI?

I unlocked a door like a week ago or something that was master level only to find a few food items. Yeah that is really annoying.

Yeah I mostly ignore them now. At first I was picking every lock, but like... loot is not finite. The next place I go, there will just be more. Why bother with the scant rewards of playing the ring minigame when I can just continue fighting stuff.

Nothing new for Bethesda's random loot sitting under Master locks.

With a bit of skill in security you can auto-open locks quite easily. Just remember to use your options.

Thats not my experience so far. I've only picked about 6 or 7 master locks, but every one that I have picked has at least 1 Epic or Legendary item, or a credit chip with 3,000+ credits on it, or both. The verry first master lock I picked had a mannequin behind it with a full space suit set with 2 epic and 1 legendary piece.

Then you must be very lucky.

i will have to agree too, as I am finding Expert locks to have better loot than Master locks

Lock pick master lock - get ammo for weapons you never use. Lock picking can largely be ignored. Only things I lock pick are doors just incase a magazine is on the other side.

Agreed, master locks don't actually seem to give better rewards.

The minigame is alright actually but if just gets old like the one in Skyrim / FO4

Wanted to install a mod to skip but but sadly can't get it to work well with MO2.

Agree with OP. I had a very out of the way master locked chest drop two ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crafting components.

Agree. It encourages the use of the console. They should have added in a Game Play option to open locks with the level of skill you invest in for them. Those who enjoy the mini-puzzle lock game, can not select it.

I cheat unlocked a bunch of master chests and I couldn't believe the quality of loot. In maybe all 10 chests I found there wasn't a single one that was worth it. It was indistinguishable from a regular unlocked container every time. It's gotta be some kind of bug.
