the tag was there for a reason ;)
You need StarGuardian 2+ before it's comparable to your late-game ships.
- armor sucks, weapons suck.
- cargo sucks
- can't be modified/upgraded
- no research-station/pharma/cooking/workbenches.
Why would you want to fly one if it didn't come with a Starborn armor?
Environmental asset texture loss. Meaning building, terrain, and other objects become invisible.
Indeed. This is the way.
This was a starborn guardian III. Stats still sucked though lmao.
because that ship can grav drive travle from the far end left star to the far right star in one jump, unlimited travle, that's usually why people want that ship.
Well to be fair, it was a very low level console command lol. Also it only warns you that it'll disable achievements, not break the game. What I did more or less was just use unlock on a door. Using the console didn't break the game, but instead the act of getting a ship before the game gives you one is what broke the game. An interesting observation nonetheless.
Yeah that is my suspicion as well. Luckily I save about every 10-15 minutes. So the damage wasn't permanent. I did have to restart the game though.
Sorry for reviving, but I searched and found this post.
I recently started NG+, and was disappointed to learn this, that the ship can't be upgraded. And I just had my first ship battle with it, against a single lvl 20 Crimson Fleet ship (I'm lvl 42), and it took a long time compared to my old ship, which was a Warhammer. So guess I'll buy a 'normal' ship in this NG+ game, then (and hope it will be possible to upgrade the Starborn ship in a later patch or a mod
However, I didn't know you could have workbenches and such on ships, so now I'm curious on how to do that, please? I changed a lot of weapons and cargo bays and other things on the Warhammer, but never any interior modules, and I only tried that ship, except for the starter one.
Are they automatically equipped with some of the living space modules you can put on ships, or can you somehow place workbenches and research stations and such on any ship, please?
I've usually done all research and weapon modding and such in the Lodge, but if it's possible to do it on the ships, that would be great.
Is it also possible to have a chest / box with unlimited storage on the ship, like the one in the Lodge, perhaps? If so, that would be perfection!
