How do people manage the armor sets and weapons?

To me it gets more and more annoying to manage armors and weapons - there tons of armors and weapons and you actually needd 4 armor sets for diffedrent planets - maybe even one more for combat/stealth.

How do you manage all of that with all the main stats hidden and beeing hard to compare combined with no slots for sets to use quickly?

Ive got the same problem with the weapons - there are tons of weapons but no clear category view and way too many different types of ammo.

Its just confusing at this point and i dont think it adds anything to the game. All of this would be way less bad with a good inventory system, clear UI and for example armor set slots etc.

Or do most ppl just ignore everything and simply keep the strongest armor for everything?

I rename what I intend to keep with a "*" at the very begining, so it comes on top everything else.
Plus, I really only use 1 set of jack of all trades armor and 3 or 4 weapons, and I only replace them when I find something way better. The rest I stack at the lodge for a while, just in case, and once in a while, I sell the outdated stuff.
So, no trouble really.

For suits you can put them in hotkeys but they won't do anything. Apparel however can be assigned to hot slots with no issues.

I don't. I have one suit, one pack, one helmet, two outfits. My hot key weapons are: 1,2,3 = various pistols, 4,5,6 = SMGs and mid range rifles, 7,8,9 = long range rifle and heavy weapons. Other three hotkeys are healing items.

use 1 suit, 1 pack and 1 helmet, you dont need 4 sets. The game isnt that serious.

I use what I like the look of the most. Because really that's the only thing that matters the most. And have 2-3 weapons I like on me. That's it. Manage for what? The game is trivial on all difficulties. What is the purpose of juggling gear.

The isn't like that stupid Outward game, where you have to change clothes every five seconds to match the climate.

I never change gear. I always wear the best, the most valuable gear that I find.

I do however, carry a bunch of those medic kits at all times. For burns, lung damage, etc...

But I rarely need to use them. Each time that I play I may use two or three, tops.
