How can the game be this badly optimized...
just look at this. dead planet, nothing is being rendered, yet GPU is at 100% 50FPS
the second shot has the camera panned down to show the FPS is exactly the same, so it seems the game is not even utlizing Oclusion culling, a technology thats probably decades old and used by almost EVERY game on the market.

the weirdest part is that the city of Neon runs just fine, a place with countless of models, reflections and light sources, running at 60fps with 30% GPU to spare (rtx3060 i should add)

It's not badly optimized!
If you don't buy a 7900XTX it's your own fault!

Todd isn't stopping you from buying it, Bethesda aren't stopping you from buying it, YOU ARE! It's all on YOU!

Starfield is already optimized. You heard Todd: if you can't run Starfield, get a better PC. It's literally that easy.

no thanks id be playing right in bethesda's hands if i bought that. and i heard nothing but bad things about AMD ranging from crashes (in general) to poor opengl drivers to bad performance in emulation and so on, pretty much all the things i want to do its badly suited for.

Imagine not getting a new PC when something isn't working properly. What a weirdo... :steamfacepalm:

What do you mean? It's not like Bethesda made any deals with AMD....

true. im looking forward to playing more properly optimized games more and more. i never really tried cyberpunk but it looks like i can expect 70fps everywhere in that game at quality dlss 1440p. unlike 50% render scale at 1440p>720p in starfield and still dipping to 40fps on medium/low settings in cities like Akila

edit: seriously though what is it rendering that puts my GPU at 100% in that screenshot? is it all volumetric fog? or did Todd secretly put 5 milion objects right bellow the ground's surface

I think it's because you're sitting in your ship. IF you get out at the same spot you should have much better fps.

It's rendering all that "unparalleled freedom".

Sorry op, but I got decent fps with a 3070ti on medium settings, 80% fsr, with dlss mod in 3440x1440. With a 7900xtx I get buttery smooth gameplay maxed out now.

i thought that was only when you look trough the cockpit.
i exited the ship and made another screenshot. this time without mspaint compression artifacts, sadly the fps is exactly the same

FSR AND DLSS? XD
Nice, so your game gets upscaled from what? 320p? XD

It's DLSS but still says fsr in menu... Instead of trying to 'gotcha' maybe you should take it as it was intended. But Now I know you're a candidate for blocking. Thnaks.

everywhere though? i feel like the performance is all over the place depending on where you are and i cant wrap my head around what is being rendered half the time. thats why i mentioned Neon city to be buttery smooth, but a dead planet like in the screenshot with absolutely nothing running at 50fps

Probably because you have a well built system. Every complaint I've read either doesn't want to followup with basic info or skimpt out on quality parts.
