Had pirates attack me after I pressed 'Jump', but my grav-drive power was still locked to '0'
I swear I’ve also seen one of those load screen help tips that tells you you can grav jump away if you’re outmatched.
Maybe it only works if there’s a certain amount of distance between you and the closest enemy ship?
Maybe it only works if you jump to another planet within the same system?
I think that means, for example, you have to jump out of your current system. That always works for me. Just pick a nearby star and jump to it.
This has happened to me twice now - no bounty, no contraband, no evil shenanigans committed…unless I ran over a space chicken by accident upon entry without noticing…
Kinda like that one random event in space where you’ve got a few Freestar ships engaging pirates and you decide to hop in and give them a hand…but then attacking the pirate ships somehow makes the Freestar hostile towards you.
Also, on the same topic sorta, I would’ve sworn I saw a load screen tip that said if you’re being attacked by a government ship (any that can arrest you) you can Hail them and turn yourself in. I’ve only been able to do this once and it was after the ship went hostile on me but before it started shooting at me. Any gov ships that start shooting can’t be hailed.
I’m just realizing now how many times I’ve inadvertently broken the law in this game lol
If you're in an A Class Starship, with the 2nd Engine skill, you can outrun any ship in the game. so if you get into a furball just boost straight and then you can take some time to collect yourself.
