Mechs ( minor spoiler )
During a normal playthrough you’ll have multiple ways to visit mechs graveyards or old rigs, even a trader who repairs them in his workshop… We know that mechs are a part of lore, since they were used in a war a few decades ago and were banned by UC and FC, but not the Va’ruun or Crimson Fleet, hell it’s possible that some old abandoned military bases can still have locked down and perfectly working mechs!

On the technical side we have all we need - models already ingame, lore friendly concept, high possibility to actually meet a working mech, can be practically made with starship builder.

So… who’s with me wants to have ground mechs and think that we will get them in the first planned DLC?

According to general rumors, creation kit will go live in early 2024, so either modders or official DLC on the way!

Personally that one thing alone makes me smile :cybereye:

They said they wouldn’t add vehicles but I’m also still hoping for mechs even if they are used as new enemies.

I'd be down for custom mechs. Even if we won't get official DLC, here's hoping for Mech Builder mods.

The no vehicles ♥♥♥♥ is clearly cause of rendering and cause youd reach the end of the sandbox in 5 minutes.

Vehicles would highlight this games flaws and thats why they arent here.

Also, all those players running and boosting across a planets surface for hours adds up in their player engagement.

This games product bro. Injected with BS the "the suits" love

Mechs in a DLC seems plausible, basically just the power armour from Fallout 4

For example, how we can use mechs, not like transport:

make instances 1x2 or 1x4 fights
Starship mech drop instead of landing
Special mech missions

Size of regular maps is more than enough for a mech fights.

If not for original DLC, I’m almost sure modders will do it

They said that?

Said salvage yard for mechs has one particular mech (hanging by the chains), which suspiciously looks like it's made using snap-fit modules - much like our ships are.

I'm pretty sure we will get at least constructible bot companiouns (like in F4 "The Machinist" DLC), some type of mech suit (like F4's Power Armour), or even a full blown customizeable mech.

Mechs are great. It's not likely for something official. They always make statements regarding vehicles along the line that "its just better without them~", which is them avoiding the topic. I don't think their engine is built for it, let alone being able to handle it. The physics already get weird pretty frequently.

I would still love to see some mechs stomping around, or even basic vehicles to help haul resources back to the ship. The idea that we have customized ships to cross the galaxy, but can't have even a slow moving golf cart to explore the planet's surface is insane. Bethesda -really- doesn't want to get out of their comfort zone.

I`m a modder with some experience, made plugins since Morrowind, I can say that vehicles is not a problem - there was a very fun mod Titanfall for FNV with a working mech. Even something like CARS for FNV was quite stable, and that thing changed alot. The ship is a vehicle, animation of docking, landing and taking off made during normal game mode. There is no difference for engine if its in space, underwater or on the ground. Its still unclear the exact scripting, since we dont have creation kit, but I can safely assume that at least making a custom frame with mech builder based on ship builder will be possible.

I'm wanting to get into the CK and muck around, see how the ships are handled.

I'm also curious if the power armor framework is still floating around in there, that could be fun!
I want my gundam!!! :D
