Ship systems won't repair themselves
I'm level 61 and just the other day I discovered what I believe is a bug. After a space battle, my ship systems simply would not repair. No rookie mistakes here - I have parts in ship storage, I press O (letter O) to fix hull, etc. [EDIT] I also added power to all the systems with red bars. I waited in real time like 20 minutes just flying around that system. I flew to another planet. I slept on the ship.

Saw another post on Redit where a person took all ship parts out of ship inventory, put them back in. Tried that, but no dice. I landed at Akila and went to ship technician who said "You have no problems." Took off again, systems still showing red bars. Tried sleeping at my home in Akila City, still the systems all show red.

So I went to the ship technician and said I wanted to modify my ship. Moved one gun to another node. That fixed all the systems. Next battle it happened again, but my grav drive was out so couldn't jump. But I could fast travel. This time to New Atlantis. Moved something else in Ship Builder and that fixed it again. Tried it a 3rd time and didn't move anything on the ship...just entered Ship Builder then exited without modifying anything. That fixed the red systems.

It's really annoying and immersion breaking when systems won't repair. So...Bethesda please fix this

You have to feed the damaged system some power. The more you feed it, the faster it repairs. Ship parts only fix the hull. You don't need or use them for repairing damaged systems.

Also, I don't think systems repair while on the ground.... as they are all put into standby mode...

Sorry, should have mentioned that in the "no rookie mistakes"... I added power to all the systems that had red bars...waited and waited and waited. Nothing repaired.

Ship systems repair slowly that is a fact, waiting or sleeping pauses the repair.
The crew you choose - repairs them faster.
The skills you choose - repairs them faster.
The character background you choose - repairs them faster.

"No rookie mistakes here - I have parts in ship storage" You are the definition of rookie.

Bethesda games have weird stuff like this. I did a quick search around and I didn't find anyone with this exact issue immediately.

Best practice would be creating a save restore point quite often . It's usually the easiest way to restore this stuff.

You could also use console commands to reset your ship manually instead of going to a technician

Have you tried editing the ship in ship builder, maybe it will reset the components?

I encountered an issue where the hot key for repairing wasn't working. I bound a different key to it and it worked.

Yep, he (she?) has tried that, and it will fix the systems, until they are damaged again, and once again, they will not repair....

My question becomes: Do you see the little animation in the power bars that indicate the system is trying to repair itself?

This is mentioned in the latter portion of the original post.

I tried to find the console command that simply 'resets' a ship, so they wouldn't have to land and go through the effort- but I'm not a command guy. I really should be, just never need them myself.

And you are the definition of a troll. Try reading more than the first couple sentences.

What was working up until level 61...is now NOT working. Nothing repairs. After 61 levels and 300+ hours, I know how long it takes to repair ship systems - perhaps a few minutes tops if everything is damaged. I have 7 crew, all followers, Vasco, plus ship-engineer hires. But thanks for replying, have a nice day.

Yes. In the Engine there is 1 green bar, looks to be nearly complete...but after flying around randomly for literally 30 minutes (no grav jump, no in-system flights...just going in circles) ..it's is still nearly complete. Like I said - system repair seems frozen across the board. I'm going to try a different ship and report back.

Ship parts have never worked to repair system components - ever.

UPDATE I switched to a different ship, and after a battle it repairs itself like normal (about 30 seconds). Repairs all systems damaged. Went back to Star Eagle and it still simply won't repair ship systems. Regardless of what I do or how long I wait. I rebuilt things, upgraded components, changed out a new Grav Drive. Regardless of what I do, Star Eagle systems will not repair.

The same thing is happening to my ships. My second ship is all green for all systems, but as soon as I move any power from the engines it goes red. I have to add power, but no matter how many power units I put into engines the ship's speed won't achieve max for its engine class. They don't need repairs as ship technicians also say my ship is fine. After hitting the repair button, I'll try sitting on the ship for a while, but I don't think that'll work, I've been on it for a while already. I've also tried changing out the ship engines entirely; nothing has fixed this issue so far. Any ideas? I've tried the suggestions above.
