Even when modders don't have malice for a given game; the mod files are most often something close to dirty. Its like they go in and just start knocking down walls, affecting areas that have nothing to do with what they were modding.
A lesson well learned in Fallout 4 for me.

I am afraid I agree with wyodinosaur - install mods manually for now. But that is a recommendation from, again, a non-Vortex user. You may get different and better advice from someone who does use that mod manager.
Read it, seriously, read it. If you're new to mods there is no way around it. As a mod manager you can use Vortex (what I use) or Mod Organizer 2, aka MO2. You might have to use a program called LooT (Load Order Optimization Tool) to sort your mod load order in the future.
Do what the others say, uninstall it all, then first install Starfield Script Extender, SFSE for short (mandatory) from here - https://sfse.silverlock.org/
Find resources that help, with less trolls than on here, like Reddit, etc.
Read, read, read. And note, when the game updates, the mods break, and you WILL HAVE TO WAIT until ALL your mods are updated until you are able to play again. Most important ones being SFSE and Address Library.
Take it from a long time modder, read, be patient, and you'll be hooked. You'll never play vanilla again.
ENJOY!!!
Great advice and I think you are spot on. With close to 700 mods in SE and almost that many in Fallout 4, with other BGS games not too far behind I can say with certainty:
"Modding. Modding never changes."
And at the risk of startling ballenvids, the motto of the Old Farts is:
"Mod it 'till it breaks. Then fix it with mods."
So true.
oh , 4k buds has it covered , it will be a lot easier for you
